the frankos:
Claude Giroux Henrik Zetterberg Patrick Marleau Brayden Schenn
Alexander Semin [didn't realize he was injured] Gabriel Landeskog Johan Franzen Carl Hagelin [didn't realize he was injured either]
Martin St. Louis Joe Pavelski Chris Neil Brendan Gallagher
Victor Hedman John Carlson Alexei Emelin [knew he was injured, waiting to put him on IR for later] Patrick Wiercioch
Roberto Luongo Jonas Hiller Tim Thomas
was hoping for PK, but he went the pick before me. as the eminent philosopher Mick Jagger once said, "you can't always get what you want".

Team Swede:
C: Crosby, Datsyuk (C/LW), Seguin (C/RW), M. Richards (C/LW), Gagner (C/RW), Dubinsky (C/LW), Hodgson (C/RW) LW: Eriksson (LW/RW), Saad RW: Byfuglien (RW/D), Clarkson D: Green, Kronwall, Seabrook, Beauchemin, Carle G: Howard, Holtby, Nabokov
I went heavy on guys with multiple position for flexibility and added faceoff value from wingers. Had Burns snatched out from under me for the other D/RW.

The last player taken in our draft was Mika Zibanejad. I see Ottawa just demoted him.
Cheers.

I was thinking of him last night and realized after I had drafted Joe Thornton that Couture was not going to get back to me. Took Jonathan Huberdeau next, though. I like your centres. Crosby/Datsyuk is great and Seguin might be playing to prove a point. Looked at him and Richards closely, though. I usually go for flexibility too, but there were too many good players remaining to pass up. Cheers.

Ugh drafting 6th in a 12 team league in a staggered draft, can there be a worse position? Having no choice but to let autodraft pick for you when 9 players have already gone by,

The Reaper's Team's DefenceP.K. Subban Kris Letang Zdeno Chara Luke Schenn Could be a Vezina winner coming from this bunch. Scratch Schenn, but the first three are All Stars. Went looking for Bergeron and Desharnais (later) and you had them both. Cheers.

Took schenn because of the blocked shots and hits. Not Happy with my goaltending...I'm hoping they end up getting the bulk of the starts.

I went off the board a couple of times with players myself . . . instead of the "best player" I went with the one that might help win a category. must say, though, that I am very unhappy with you for grabbing PK. I actually thought I might get him but you picked just before me and nabbed him. I hope he has a great year for you . . . but not the weeks we go at it!

The goalies going quick was partially my fault. I had the top four pre ranked as it was then I had 3 goalies on my list. I actually had Rask first but he got snapped up quickly. I probably would of only picked one but since I was at he mercy of autodraft I wanted to make sure I got a goalie. I have played a season with backups or just overall bad goalies and it is no fun.

I had Rask highlighted right from the get-go. Goalies are still required to start three games, which is why I went after some starters right off the bat. The worst year I had for goaltenders was when I had Luongo and Steve Mason. Mason was just coming off a great rookie season and I never had Luongo before. Both of them were so terrible I just stopped adjusting my lineup. It was probably the worst year I've ever had in fantasy hockey. Cheers.

It's certainly a nail biter. Franko was chasing me like a dog all year, and finally passed me right at the end (what took you so long?!).
I made a couple of desparation waiver moves to try and shore up my PIM's, Hits and Blocks for the last couple of days, just to try and get through the semi's. We'll see if it pays off .

Will there be some sort of Playoff pool as well? We traditionally haven't done a playoff pool, I've found they're kind of difficult to manage with a bunch of online people. If anyone wants to take the reins for one, I'd join up.

Just curious, what's your problem with goalie games started?
I like it, and the 3 game minimum, as it usually weeds out the chaff. The team with the best goalies wins. You can't ride 5 categories on 1 ,2 or 3 good games a week, you need consistently good goalies. The more games started, the more accurate the GAA and SV% stats will be overall, then if a team gets lucky and has 3 really good games early, they risk losing the GS, W and SO stats if they try to sit on the minimum 3 games by not dressing their goalies.

I feel really dirty but I did the old waiver move thing myself. why I care is beyond me -- it's a pride thing I think. I look at the faceoffs won and lost and think that one is a trade-off. goalie games looked to do me in with Luongo out -- whatever happens I'll have the same problem with him next week. again it's been a blast and a nice diversion through a long winter

I'm back and forth with that one, Roggy . . . but in the end it is a flip-of-the-coin: do I go for GS or do I risk losing out on others; do I sit on a lower GAA or go for a SO? After all these years, that is the category I'd leave; if any I'd dump face off loses -- wins and loses seem to be a wash, you win one but lose the other. having said that, I just appreciate that you take charge and do this every year!

I'm okay with it. Having a minimum number of games for goaltenders creates a more even playing field. By that I mean, if your goaltender gets a shutout in his first game of the week, all you have to do is bench your goaltenders for the remainder of the week. Granted you'd lose in SOG and goaltender starts, but you'd win the remaining goaltender stats. Having a minimum of three starts prevents that. That's the only thing I can really think of, anyway. You know, I was saying that I don't think I've ever seen a pool as close as this one was this year. What's odd is that, I don't think I lost two consecutive weeks all season. Now, it looks like I'll lose three weeks in a row ... only around playoff time ... sorta like ... the Leafs ... oh, the pain ... Cheers.

Thanks guys, appreciate the input. Everyone has a different opinion about goalies in Yahoo pools.
As for the Face Off stats, They didn't work the way I thought they would, but by the time I realized it, it was too late. Will re-evaluate that one for next year. Most of the time it was a wasted stat, win one, lose the other.
