After Carey I thought DD was our best player - boy is he playing well. Like the old days when he was between Max and Cole - but better, much better.
Leafs cannot catch us! Can they catch anyone? The last 2 weeks have been so enjoyable!

I believe we clinched tonight. Wasn't pretty after the first, but that first line is rolling. 35 goals for Max, only the fourth time since 1995-96. Vanek is showing not only his ability to score, but set people up. I didn't realize he was as good a passer as he is. EGG line didn't do much. We certainly missed Pleks and the 4th line trio. I thought Briere had a couple of nice dangles and passes only to have Bourque not be able to get a shot off.

Haven't clinch yet as Columbus, Wash and Det can all still catch us mathematically. Just need to eliminate one of them and we're in!
After the DD line, the other lines were not very good at all. GEG was very disappointing. PK must be tired as he has not played well for a few weeks. Weaver had some tough shifts tonight.

Now that we clinched time to rest the veterans and ensure the injured get healthy for playoffs rest the vets like BooBoo and Bourque as well I disagree, play both BooBoo and Bourque heavy minutes, if they get injured, oh well.

I was thinking more of a permanent rest . . . but I can see your thought processes: play them 45 minutes each until they can't move no more and are too far gone of the playoffs. PLAYOFFS! hear that, Leaf fans! [boy I like saying that . . . it's the "non-nice" part of me coming out].

Need 97 points to clinch. Only 19 shots on goal against Florida? Yuck.

Need 97 points to clinch. Only 19 shots on goal against Florida? Yuck. Ugly is right. It's very rare in today's NHL where you can show up for 20 minutes and skate away with a win. You can see that after the 1st period, the Habs thought that it was going to be a skate in the park. the effort stopped, and they looked like they were trying to play shinny. Meh. 2 points in the bank. They better be prepared for Tampa on Tuesday.

Saw a tweet by Daren Millard that said MP now leads the league with 10 GWG.

our first line is a joy to watch. Pleky is needed on the second line. And Prust-Moen-Weise need to be back for the playoffs!

Really looks like DD, Max, and Vanek (we need a name for this line) are having a lot of fun out there! Should only get better. As good as Max and V are, I really think DD is the straw that stirs the drink. Love his speed and creativity. He's come a long way since the Fall! Mtl seemed upset with Barch after the fight with Parros. Not sure why - is Parros not suppose to be fighting because of his concussions or was it Barch's throwing Parros to the ice at the end of the fight? It's 2 game in a row now that BGal had AGal for a nice set up and BGal didn't pass. It would seem the magic is gone. And what is with Eller - boy has he regressed.

He was in this terrible slump to start the year. The mayor of Montreal jumped on him with an inappropriate tweet, but DD rose to that slight when he scored in a shootout very shortly after. That, there, seemed to give him a kick-start. The whole team was behind him. I can't tell you one way or the other, but I imagine Bergevin is finally saying, "... that's more like it ..." Cheers.

Boys need Galchenyuk and Gallagher going in the playoffs and we need the Prust Moen Weisse/Bournival line for sure.
Team is is still too easy to play against if they shut down our top line and the 4th isn't effective.
I think we are better than Tampa but Bishop has this teams number and I think Cooper will out coach MT...all cylinders will have to be going and MT needs to let PK go.

The impression I get from the interviews is DD is just a really nice guy who's always had to try a little harder due to his size. And his team-mates love him. Hate to get a 3 day layoff in the sun when we're on a roll but they've earned a rest, and need one. No biggie if they return and lose a few. The main thing is to get rest for PK, Marky, Pleks, BGal, Gio.

Back to the ice tomorrow for practice in Sunrise. Then fly to Tampa. They've had more back to backers than 3 days between a game. They've earned it even if there are enough distractions to cause a flat start to the next game. Here's hoping they recognize the fact that Tampa is their likely opponent, Stamkos is back, and it's time to set the tone.

The wings beat the Bolts in regulation so they only have 1 game in hand. The Detroit win also put them ahead of Columbus. I am happy.

I want the B's to face columbus in the 1st round. OK, I gotcha. I thought you wanted Columbus to miss the playoffs altogether. I want the same thing: the Jackets and the Bruins to beat each other up in a 7 game series. then, of course, for us to take whoever comes out of it *cough*Columbus*cough* in 4 or 5.

Cbj are the only team with the size to take out the b's in the east imo. The habs can too but they use smarts to beat them
