MT deserves credit for continuing to roll 4 lines in OT. Besides the W, it also gives confidence to everyone. Noticed how happy Vanek was during the celebration. I know it's natural for a teammate to be celebratory after a big win like that, but perhaps relationships are being formed, and he'll want to stay. Ray Ferraro on Melnick's show mentioned the 3 or 4 big stop Price made in OT as well. Have you heard the call of the Tampa broadcast crew on Weise's winner? The most lacklustre call I've ever heard. I have to go back to the 1969-70 season for another such call. Budd Lynch on the radio for the Wings. Chicago was already pasting Detroit, and here's how Lynch called the next goal. (Very quickly, with a monotone flat delivery) Here comes Bobby Hull down the ice shoots he scores. **BTW....Lynch went on to be the Wings' PA announcer til he died in 2012 at the age of 95. At least CBC had a good call...

Were it not for Weaver having a rather atrocious 2nd and 3rd period Bergevin would have looked like a genius last night. Weise, Vanek, Briere, all key contributors. Almost looked like Bergevin knows what he is doing... not counting the Blue Suit Bergy Boogie of course (though I expect to see quite a few of those in the stands for Game 3). Obviously Bergevin was showing something Gauthier would have been incapable of.

My heart was racing so fast i couldn't fall asleep until 12:30am. Might have been a mix with the coffee's but hell, was it ever worth it. What an exciting hockry game. After a season of defensive bullsh/t, it was nice to see a game full of mistake riddled offense. Feel bad for Prices save %, but we know that is not the real Price. Lindback on the other hand played his usual game, if we copy paste this performance and just substitute Price for the Price during the season, we're looking at a completely different game. The boys bailed Price out, it was nice to see that it didn't have to be the other way around.

I'll have to hear it, but he was always pretty good regardless of who scored. EDIT: Just watched the Sunspsorts call on nhl.com. That's Peckham. Seemed pretty good considering it was the visitors that scored. video.lightning.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=-3Sorry....it was the Tampa radio call.

Sorry....it was the Tampa radio call. No sweat. Figured that was likely the source.

Tampa play-by-play radio is Dave Mishkin. Colour is Phil Esposito. You can hear Espo with a sound of derision right after the call. Lightning RadioI'm trying to find the clip.

I said in another thread Franko....mt has broken PK... he has lost all creativity and he is always hesitating... he's thinking too much and he's just not playing the game his way. Broke him? I think he gave him a lobotomy. There was a play in the third period where I threw something at my TV, huffing and puffing that PK had lost absolutely ALL his hockey IQ. It was late in the third period, about 2 minutes left in the game. PK corrals the puck, skates toward our blueline, then he turns to skate parallel to our blueline(puck still not out) then does one of his twisty - turnies and loses the puck and the Ligthning player beats him to the puck, and PK rightfully forces him behind the right side (Carey's left) of the net, then cuts in front of Carey and chases the guy behind the net. When the lightning saw him pass in front of Carey he stopped hard, turrned and came on in front of Price for a great scoring chance as PK was trailing behind him well out of the play. I was dumbfounded .... I actually started contemplating if trading Subban for Evander Kane and Byfuglien was the way to go. There has been very little Subban talk in all these post game comments but there is no hiding he the fact he was mostly a libility for much of the game. There was a play behind his own net where he tried to stick handle with the puck and turned it over instead of chipping around the boards to his partner or at least getting out of trouble. He also took a slap shot from center which did lead to a faceoff in Tampa's zone but could have dumped it into the corner where the forwards could have forechecked. No goalie is going to let in a slap shot from center so what was the point of it? He keeps making poor decisions with the puck and the odd missed big time body check that will eventually cost the team and that is not on MT but on PK all on his own.

It did lead to a face-off, so the result wasn't that bad. You certainly don't do that against some guy playing well, but someone who's already nervous as a tick...definitely.

You just never know. Lindback was mishandling the puck, so Subban took a shot.

OK so it does happen rarely but that would like posting a bad picture of Kate Upton for the argument she is an ugly girl. Maybe PK saw the goalie not paying attention or was hoping to catch him by surprise but if it wasn't to kill a penalty or time about to expire in a period it is a pretty low percentage play and counterproductive. If that had been someone other than Subban I think there would have been questions asked.
