Still a lot of hockey to play yet. Remembering being up 2-0 before these numbers came to me. 3 out of last 4 times Habs were up 2-0 we ended up losing series(1996, 2002, 2011). The one series we won the Bruins came back to make it go all 7 games(2008).

Pivotal game. Need to play with urgency but composure. If they play like game 2 it's theirs.

The Bell Centre will be rocking, so it will be important to keep an even keel in this game and do what they did last game.
This team was well prepared to play game two, and I expect a lot of the same tonight.
Time to snap the jinx!

They know what they have to do and they proved they can do it. Back in the Forum err Keg, err Bell momentum is with us. If they mess up it's their fault, NO EXCUSES! We will win!

Bit of a war of words between coaches today ... Cooper saying "It's not like the Canadiens have lost a series after going up 2-0 in games." Therrien comes back with "We know exactly where Palat is hurt."
Not the greatest comeback ever, but afaic Cooper's comment is bulletin board motivation. If I'm a Hab I'm putting that on the board and using it against the Dolts.

You gotta believe this will be TB's best game. It's now or never for them.
It all comes down to goaltending again. We will be stoked to start this game and the fans will be roaring. Whichever backup goalie starts for TB will have never played in such an atmosphere. How will he handle it? Gotta believe it will be Lindback as don't think the Latvian can give any faith to teammates. If we can get a goal or two early we could see a complete collapse. Cliche, but the first 10 minutes could set the stage. TB will just want to weather it.
And as always Carey will have a lot of pressure as the critics (read CBC) will be ready to pounce at any goal. Carey handled it very well this season.

I think Bourque's contribution is consistent with the way the Habs have been scoring. All four lines have contributed to the cause in the first two games and that's something Tampa hasn't been able to handle.
I suspect we'll see a different Tampa Bay club tonight.
Cheers.

Therrien comes back with "We know exactly where Palat is hurt." Not the greatest comeback ever, but afaic Cooper's comment is bulletin board motivation. If I'm a Hab I'm putting that on the board and using it against the Dolts. AS a coach, I wouldn't get into that game. Cooper is obviously trying to use any edge he can and the Habs have to just stay composed. That quote would definitely get on my bulleting board, though. I would not have said anything about Palat, or anything negative about the Bolts. I would have simply said that the Bolts have overcome a lot of obstacles this year, and that the Habs respect the Bolts determination and character. Make the Bolts content. Give them an excuse. "Yes we overcame a lot of stuff this year, isn't that great and we really can't be blamed for being overcome by fate, can we?" As soon as you 'threaten' Palat, it gives the Bolts some incentive, perhaps to try injuring our guys. The main reason I wouldn't get into any war of words is that there's no need to. The Bolts know we're better. They simply don't have the horses.

Just when you think MT gets it, he does something stupid like this. Why is there any need to say something like that? There's nothing to be gained and can be a real motivator for the Bolts. MTHead!!!

A simple "thank you for reminding us" would have been a lot more devastating. Do I need to justify why I call him MThead?

Well, if Palata goes down again there's no reason to think it will not be mico-analyzed. Therrien has do know when to keep his mouth shut. There was no reason for that comment whatsoever. So if you have intelligence on the other side, why let everyone and their dog about it?
I think every team probably has the inside on injured players, too, but I don't think I've ever heard any of them talk about it publicly.
Have a Pro Line ticket made out already, but I'm not so sure it's going to be good now. If TB needed to find some motivation, Therrien may have just given it to them.
Cheers.

I have seen too many of these 2-0 collapses in the dead Stanley years....the place will be insane hope the boys are workman like yet not to passive. Play hard no need for a show, the nice goals will come if you play hard and smart...need to win this game and hopefully set up a kill shot with a Tampa team that would all but done...we don't want MT over thinking anything more than he has.
Go Habs

It just reflects MTHead's insecurity/immaturity - always has to show he knows everything and is the smartest guy in the room Guess what? He's not. All he is in the locker room is the boss. The statement is not only a motivator for TB, it is also classless, as if to say we will injure players if we can. He'd be a good replacement for Julien!

I don't know if Therrien actually saw the video with Cooper, because his tone was actually more playful than threatening. Pretty dumb move by both of them, to be honest. Hopefully the boys will tune out all distractions, and keep playing the way they have been thus far.

the last several versions of this club mainly with this core have not had the "Eye of the Tiger"..tonight they can take a big step forward into finding it.

"Eye of the Tiger", indeed. Go Habs Go!

Ya. Three times in NHL history, if I'm not mistaken. But this series isn't about a jinx. It's about payback for the Bolts sweeping us a few years ago. Get it done boys!
