Well, what's a Habs fan to do. The only team to sweep and the only team to advance so far- and we did that 2 days ago. Still waiting for some company. Ho hum.
Watched some of the Bruins game tonight. They didn't loom all that good against the Wings. They may pick it up against us mind you. Not sure what to think of our rest. It's likely to be 7 -10 days. I don't mind that if the Bruins/Wings only get a few days off. Unfortunately, my guess is the Bs will win Saturday and get a comfortable 4 or 5 days off and we will be rusty. 7 game series would be ideal and the league is forced to start our series immediately. But as of now, we won't be starting anything anytime soon.
Hope AGal is healing!

For that matter, who do you take out to get Tinordi and/or Murray back in? Up front the weakest link, as I mentioned in another post, has been Brandon Prust. And "weak" is a relative term of course. But there is no way you take out Brandon Prust for a playoff series against the Bruins. Weise? Scored an OT winner, set up another, and I don't know if anybody noticed but he's been on the ice in the last couple of minutes of tight games in a defensive role. Bournival? Maybe, especially if you are worried about his head and/or nerves against a veteran Boston team. But he certainly doesn't deserve to be taken out based on his play. Ditto for Briere. Granted, Briere hasn't been great, but he's been Johnny-on-the-spot at times, and he's that type of small, shifty player that seems to give guys like Chara such a hard time. On defense Bouillon and Weaver are on the bubble I suppose. But as many have noted Bouillon plays well after getting a rest, and he'll certainly have a rest here. I haven't been as impressed with Weaver as others, but that doesn't mean I think Murray or Tinordi would have played any better. I can see the argument for getting Tinordi out there, but if you send him out there now, without an injury to one of the other players or without spectacularly bad play from somebody you're basically telling him "you're our 'big' guy, go out there and contain those Big Bad Bruins". I'm not sure that's exactly what we want at this point in Tinordi's career. On the other hand if somebody plays themselves out of the lineup and/or gets hurt then there is less pressure on Tinordi to be a physical force. He can still be it, of course, but he's not being put in there for that reason only. In goal, well doesn't Peter Budaj own the Bruins? Do you pull Price to... nah, I'm just kidding. This is going to be tricky for Therrien. A guy like Moen is going to be itching to play, especially against the Bruins, but if you pull out somebody else you run the risk of creating some discontent in the dressing room. I am not saying that too much depth is a bad thing, it's not, but it does present a different set of challenges for the coach. My prediction is the lineup stays the same, or Bournival comes out for Moen. Defense stays the same. Oh and Price starts.

Doesn't look like we'll have to worry about who Galchenyuk will replace in the next series. Read on the Score app this morning that he isn't expected to be ready until the Eastern Conference finals (should the Habs advance that far). The Score's source was Pat Hickey (Montreal Gazette). I haven't been able to find a source on line yet but if I do I'll post it here. Edit: Here's a link. See the last paragraph of the article.

PK sat out all but one game in the Olympics and never made a peep. A humbling experience to be sure, but it was one of the costs to winning gold. Changes in the lineup are a certainty; injuries, or what have you. However, it's important to keep the end goal in sight. Cheers.

Who do you take out to get Galchenyuk in? Or Moen? For that matter, who do you take out to get Tinordi and/or Murray back in?
Nothing is going to change for Game 1. I don't think Galchy will be back for any of these playoffs, myself, which is a crime. The answers to your questions to me are simple, but it will take circumstances for Therrien to replace anyone, despite the flaws we have noted in the last series. Bouillon out, Tinordi in. As you said, better for it to happen after Cube has had a bad game, which should be in Game 2 of the next series. Bourque out, Moen in. I then move Bournival up to Eller's line and Moen skates on the 4th line. I have no confidence Bourque will maintain his scoring pace. It's already slowed down as he didn't score in the last game , and the additions of Tinordi and Moen instantly raises the Habs toughness level. There is a 1% chance that happens. MT only benched Bourque after a near full season of futility, and the playoffs don't last that long. And maybe the playoffs are what Bourque needs to get the compete level up. I'd like to see him get into a fight, though. That might be interesting. Anyway, I predict no changes at all unless injuries force MT's hand.
i agree MT ain't changing anything until game 2, at the earliest. I don't see Moen increasing our toughness after his concussion. He'll be tentative and timid - seen it before from him. And I don't want to see Bourque in a fight - didn't end well against the leafs last year. There in lies our problem against the Bs. Only way we win is to avoid the rough stuff and hope the refs call the B's crap and our PP converts. I know that may be wishful thinking but we can't play the Bs game - they'll murder us!
