I just read Jack Todd's article and I'd have to agree that Brandon Prust would be another strong consideration.

A quick story. Last year I had the great fortune of seeing the Habs play in Buffalo from right behind the Habs bench. My son and I had an even greater honor of getting onto the VIP list and meeting a few after the game. Briere, Gionta, DD, Chucky, P.K. and Brandon Prust all came out to meet fans and family for the few minutes they had between the end of the game and their bus ride to the airport. All (with the exception of P.K.) were very kind, considerate and generous with the time they spent with my son and I. P.K. was down right rude and literally pushed past my son and I to go talk to some younger women who were standing up and away from everyone else. Brandon Prust saw this and came over and chatted up my son. Galchenyuk was kind - but we quickly overheard that he'd missed the team bus from the hotel to the airport - and his agent was in the process of reading him the riot act, and we could tell he was in a bit of trouble with the team.
After roughly 10 minutes of visiting - Gio, Briere and DD all quietly slipped down below the stands headed for the team bus. Prust - stood watch and began calling out to P.K. to get his but in gear. P.K. didn't seem to care at first, but Prust got more and more assertive as the time got longer and longer. P.K. eventually relented and dashed for the exit without addressing any of the fans. Galchenyuk, looking shell shocked got up and began slowly walking toward the exit, when Prust came up, clapped him on the back and told him it was going to be alright.
My point to all of this is pretty simple. The captain at the time acted less like a captain, and more like a quiet elder statesman. P.K. on the other hand - acted like nothing more than a selfish, immature hot shot. The one person who acted like a true leader, firm but fair toward some and compassionate toward others was Brandon Prust. He seems to have the respect of the entire team - and knows that you have to deal with your fellow players and fans while properly representing the CH.
