Is it? Didn't this guy go to Europe mid-season at one point?
Trivia question: the TSN photo has Breeze-by wearing #71 yet he wore #43. Where's the photo from?

He wore 71 on his second stint. So which one will management retire 15 years from now?

Is he the last player to play for us who won a Cup with us? No. Patrice Brisebos' last game in a Habs uniform was April 16, 2009. The last player from the 1993 Cup winning team to play for the Habs, played his last game on April 18, 2009. Mathieu Schneider

It surprised me. Regardless of his playing career, this move came out of nowhere. Regardless of the reasons, I don't think anyone outside the close circle can say they truly saw this coming.

I think Breezer expected to be considered for the assistant coach position and probably was not which triggered his decision. In an article I read, he said that traveling was tough on his family life but he also said that he felt his future with the HABS was “unclear”… said he likes the teaching aspect of his job and would like to eventually become a coach.

He's been Director of Player Development for the past two years…an important job.
Maybe he wasn't doing a very good job and he could see some inevitable writing on the wall?
In that sense, you'd think Lefebvre's job would be in jeopardy as well.
Just puttin' it out there.
Who becomes our new DOPD?
Who becomes our new Assistant Coach to replace Gallant?

Maybe Breezer won't be replaced. Or an existing guy might be promoted to do both jobs. Cost cutting, to help pay PK's new contract.

Way I took it he was DPD in title alone. They were using him just to aid the young players on dealing with the hockey mad market in montreal. Where he played there so long and stayed out of trouble with media

If travelling was an issue, would he not have more as an assistant coach?

Where he played there so long and stayed out of trouble with media Brisebois didn't exactly stay out of trouble with the media .... he was afterall Jack Todd's personal whipping boy, and he probably still lists him in his "duds" list. Brisebois also took alot of flack for driving a race car, while under contract, in the off season one year.

Never really heard much out of him nor was he impressive during interviews.

There are certain players I never liked, Breezeby, Rucinsky, Briere, etc. There are others I really like, Gallagher, Robinson, Ferguson, Gainey. I won't cry over Breezeby's departure.
