haven't ordered it yet, I've been able to see all games so far. We shall see if I get any blacked out. I saw a schedule of games come up on the screen between periods on SN360 ... it told you which games were going to be on which channels, for which days ... it provided the information but you'd better have a pen and paper ready (or recording it) ... the screen, itself, reminded me of a pay-per-view channel ... maybe if they include in their Sportsnet game-day wrap-ups it wouldn't look so commercial ... I've been told the blackout won't affect Kingston, but I won't be taking the Pepsi challenge on that ... I stopped trying to figure out what's what ... it's too much of a bloody exercise ... Cheers.

I saw that too, Dis. For me, the Saturday game is on CheK so I should be able to watch that, making it 3 for 3 without paying an extra cent.

The fact that knowledgeable and motivated hockey fans are now on the 10th page of this thread is a complete indictment of how poorly the broadcaster(s) managed the introduction of "the product". I think most of us would have been fired a long time ago for such incompetence on a roll out of even a minor project. Given this is their flagship project obtained through a huge investment just blows me away. INCOMPETENCE!!!! Will be interested to see how long it will take for us to have any confidence while driving home that we will be able to watch a Habs game that night. Seems like a distant memory when that was not an issue. Talk about progress

I'm not so sure that it's a complete indictment as much as it's a sign that we truly are fans -- and want more and want it now! Rogers had said that they'll be rolling things out and making announcements; they just weren't fast enough for us. Add to this the fact that the RDS/French package was not an option at the beginning and that they made arrangements for it once they heard a sniff and a roar of disapproval. Then they included pre-season games once they heard another grumble. If there's money to be lost made they'll act. Within the 10 pages are a number of repeat comments. Probably half a dozen links to the schedule -- I know I've posted it a couple of times. Game times and stations are on it -- we should be able to tell which station we are going to watch on any given night well in advance. My beef with the schedule is that broadcast hops from station to station: CITY, CBC, SN, etc. Just grab one and stay with it (we all know that HNIC is going to give the Leafs priority air time; make SN1 "the Habs channel".

That last pro-Habs broadcast was refreshing ... I noticed that the national game on CBC this Saturday is a Leaf game ... wasn't surprised in the least ... when we lived overseas, stations like Eurosport or Sky Sports would recognize the Leafs as "Canada's team" and I suspect that was because of CBC's influence ... it wasn't always like that, though ... CBC finally relented to feedback a few years ago but I suspect they'll go back to "the Maple Leaf forever ..." Cheers.

On Bob McCown's show they talked about how both the Leafs and the Habs are broadcast Nationally this weekend on English channels simultaneously. Bob posed the question of who'd win the ratings game, and if the powers that be would end up switching channels for the team that gets the highest ratings. Friedman stated it would always be the Leafs they have the most fans nationally. Then Brunt asked if he was including french viewers. I was surprised by Friedman's response of "I thought we were only considering English ratings" ...then after some thought he said, "no, even with french viewers, and a successful Montreal team it will always be Toronto"
He said he'd be "mildly surprised" if that wasn't the case ....
I felt like calling in and saying, lift the blackouts and prepare yourself to be mildly surprised.

I'm not impressed that i now have to check out which station may carry the game and determine if i have signed up for coverage and hope that it is not blacked out in my region. That is a step backward for this lazy guy. I'm looking for user friendly. And when I call a server and they can't tell me which games they are offering that is incompetence. Don't have to please my every viewing wish but at least be in a position to tell me what your company is offering.

Anybody else watch the game on City Toronto?
At the end of regulation they just cut it off and went to some lame network show. Some moron at City probably thought the game was over. I had to switch to TVA to get the OT and shoot out. I'm with you habsorbed - it's just incompetent. This is what happens when you broadcast on some local station instead of a national network.

I'm with Rogers...
I ordered RDS last week and the game was blacked out. I phoned an hour later and they told me that the game is on channel 464.
Last night, it was blacked out again and I called again! I was told that RDS channels WILL BE BLACKOUT OUT and I can order Center Ice for $205 a season. Or I can order it by the month for $36.
Surprise, surprise........$205 a season or $36 a MONTH......Versus...$7 a month for RDS.
THAT MONEY GRAB is exactly what I expected from Rogers....and trust me, it will get worse. For all of those who are enjoying free hockey games now, enjoy it while it lasts......

HA, you ordered the wrong package -- don't order RDS, order the RDS French Hockey package. strange as it may seem, they are two different packages. Habs on RDS is regional, the Hockey package for $59.95 (you'll want to tell the service techs right) is national.

The NHL French Package is definitely what you need. $60 for the season on both Bell or Rogers. It's actually cheaper for me this year as the 'package' that contained RDS for Bell Fibe was $15/month. Hockey season is definitely longer than 4 months. I'm able to catch the rest of the games on my normal cable package without add-ons.

Now I got to decide...do I pay 60 bucks plus taxes for 38 games....considering that last year, I deleted half the games....

I got another surprise from Rogers. TVA Sports was part of package until yesterday. I checked it out yesterday night & discovered I am no longer authorized. No warning, no notice, just one more channel off my lineup.

The whole thing is a broadcast nightmare. What a way to treat customers and hockey fans. I bit the bullet and signed up for Centre Ice before the pre-season ended. It was the only way I was told then that I would get access to the RDS games being west of Belleville and I must admit I have enjoyed watching other games as well. I too noticed TVA was all of sudden available. On Thursday for whatever reason I lost all access to Centre Ice. Had to call Rogers. They had no record of me signing up though I had access from the pre-season until this past Thursday. So I had to re-order it. Hopefully I won't be charged twice. I then noticed TVA was not available and I asked the Rogers rep about it and he had no idea why I had access and now I didn't. If I want TVA I have to spend another $6.99 a month so I said forget it. I guess I will stick with the City TV English broadcast crew tonight. Nothing but conflicting information from all the cable companies when it comes to how we can access Habs games in various parts of the country. Different packages, different quotes, cable reps with answers others with no knowledge of anything. Horrible customer service. I long for the day when I as a consumer can choose and pay for the channels I only want.

passed that one along as you posted, Manton -- quite an indictment and ROgers won't be happy hearing the unhappiness because that is potential loss of money.

I live on Vancouver Island and only have Shaw as my cable provider. Given the restrictions for RDS this year I had to revamp my cable package in order to see all Habs games. Thanks to Hockey Inside/Out making the Habs TV Schedule available online at: www.hockeyinsideout.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/habs-roc-schedule.pdf I now have access to all Habs games. As long as I have CBC, City, Sportsnet, Sportsnet 360, Sportsnet One or FX Canada all nationally televised games can be seen. However, for the 42 regional games I had to choose between Rogers GCL or NHL CentreIce. I have chosen NHL CentreIce as I prefer watching on TV as opposed to streaming even though I could stream to the TV I don't use mobile devises. So far only one regional game has been on but Tuesday's tilt against the Red Wings is scheduled for CentreIce. Yes, it costs more than simply using RDS as an add-on channel but to me the entertainment aspect is worth it. I just canceled cable bundles I very seldom watch and my Shaw bill has remained about the same except for the one time payment for NHL CentreIce. Edited to add: As far as what broadcast team is doing the games I always have the TSN690 broadcast on the ready so I do not have to listen to Habs discrimination. So far, I have only used TSN690 for opening night when Jim Hughson and Craig Simpson were up to their old CBC ways. To synchronize the broadcasts I simply pause my PVR (usually during the anthems) and wait for the radio broadcast to catch up.

The NHL is getting the feedback ... they have to realize that there are Francophone communities outside of Quebec ... this article deals with Northern Ontario and if you've ever driven through it you'll know there are a lot of French communities all through the region ... ==================================================================================== Angry Habs fans turn to MP to resolve cable TV crisis... The Habs games had been blacked out because the NHL mistakenly assumed fans in northern Ontario were more interested in Toronto games. Angus said the cable networks heard the message loud and clear and he’s happy the Habs games are back ...
