So, how will we handle the blueline? Two kids? One kid and Frankie B? Size and strength? Puck mover?
I say the spot is Beaulieu's to lose, with Bouillon backing him up. With any luck Bouillon will get the Hal Gill treatment and only play a handful of games. That will mean Beaulieu has done his job.

I don't think Beaulieu will play every game but Pateryn needs to clear waivers if he is sent down and Tinordi doesn't. So because of that, and the fact he has had a good camp, he will stay up. I got the bad feeling Bouillon will be signed as a 8th defenceman but end up playing more than he should.

Beaulieu, Tinordi will alternate all season.

I chose Beau and Boo but I hope it is Beau and Pateryn. Tenderizer can go down without having to clear waivers so he is the natural choice to go down... all things being equal. Hopefully Tinordi can go down to the dogs play monster minutes and when called up, be ready to stay because we only have Dream Weaver signed for this year.

Beau and Tin alternate with Weaver. I'm ignoring Cube in the hopes that he just goes away.

I'm a bit confused, does Pateryn actually have to go through waivers if we send him down?
I think he's still exempt for this season. He signed his contract in 2012 and only has 3 NHL games under his belt.
If he does have to clear waivers, I would keep Beau and Pateryn. But if Pateryn is exempt, I would keep Beau and Drewiske. Drewiske is the perfect man for that seat in the pressbox, and MB should make an effort to keep all our young D's playing and developing. And at this stage, I just think Drewiske is better than Bouillon, despite being such an unexciting player.

I went with Beaulieu/Tinordi ... unless there's an injury somewhere I don't see any room for Pateryn on the right side ... Bouillon? ... wouldn't surprise me to see him in the lineup, but I'm hoping it's Tinordi ...
Cheers.

It should be Beaulieu and Tinordi alternating until there's an injury, but knowing Therrien, it will be Beaulieu and Cubism. What is it between Therrien and Bouillon? Does Cube have a flash drive downloaded from Therrien's computer?

Wait! WAIT! Where is the option where Cranky body bags them on the right side and BC does a Bobby Orr two'step up the ice on the left side? Or are you getting too old and fat? Mehhhhh....
I haven't seen anyone play yet, but....what I like to see is Beau and Tinasty make it from the get go. The only time I want to see Booboo is when he's making paper airplanes in the press box. Even if we lose a game or three, breaking in two top four defenseman is far more important.

Weaver
Emelin - Subban Markov - Tinordi Gilbert - Beaulieu
If we need some more grit, we put in Weaver. If we need more offense Beaulieu
If we don't start playing the kids, we will regret it

If we don't start playing the kids, we will regret it I just don't understand this business with Bouillon, regardless of how far back he and Therrien go. We saw in last year's playoffs that having Tinordi and Beaulieu in the proper stage of development would have helped us a ton. So why is there any consideration whatsoever to delaying their development? You can see it, I can see it and it seems obvious to anyone not named Michel Therrien. Mindboggling.

BOUILLON GETS THE NOD Tinordi claimed off waivers by Toronto
Despite being the terror of the league in the handful of games he's played during his recent years in the bleu-blanc-et-rouge, Jarred Tinordi was yet again passed by to start another season. And once again, Francis Bouillon is the chosen one. Bouillon, who will be 45 this month, says even he can't figure it out.
"I'd be a fool to turn down the money," Bouillon said. "But it is a bit embarrassing. My play, that is."
In each of the past 3 seasons, the Habs have lost out in Round 1 due to lack of physical toughness on the blue line, as Tinordi spent his 3rd straight playoff season in Hamilton.
Carey Price had perhaps the best quote of the day. "All we need to get over the top is a tall, strong defenseman who can clear the front of the net….like….oh….Jarred Tinordi. Maybe the Leafs will put him on waivers and we can pick him up cheap."

I think it's going to be Beaulieu/Tinordi
Beaulieu is obviously the best of the lot so he's a lock IMO.
I was going to say Beaulieu/Bouillon but Tinordi against Washington showed exactly why he should stick around. He can deliver punishment like nobody else on the team and can play hockey. He needs seasoning in his own end for sure but he probably should get it at the NHL level.
That said I would not be surprised to see all 3 of Beaulieu/Tinordi/Bouillon stick around...

I think Drewiski going down and Tinordi's mediocre play pretty much cements Frankie B's spot on the team.

I think Drewiski going down and Tinordi's mediocre play pretty much cements Frankie B's spot on the team. Well, you might be right, BC ... a few things ... Darren Dietz may just have passed Greg Pateryn on the prospects list ... He could be surpassing Tinordi shortly, too ... Pateryn might be in Hamilton but I'm still going to follow his progress ... I'm not all that sure that there's a spot for him in Montreal in the future ... Magnus Nygren is back in Hamilton but will he stay there ... Cheers.

Last second question for the masses; with the Blackhawks signing Dan Carcillo they might be just hours away from dealing a defenseman to get under the cap. Michal Rozsival, Johnny Oduya and Nick Leddy are the three who are generally considered to be on the block. Rumours say at least seven teams are interested in Leddy. Would anybody do a Beaulieu for Leddy deal? forecaster.thehockeynews.com/hockeynews/hockey/player.php?7464Both have tremendous upside, with Leddy being much more polished at this point. Beaulieu may have the higher ceiling though. Leddy is defintely more proven, and can slide into that 6th spot quite easily. Really should be higher. He's small though. I guess you have to ask yourself how quickly Beaulieu can reach Leddy's level; if it's as early as this year then no, you don't make the deal. But if you think Nate the Great will have his rookie moments, and may struggle at times, if not most of the time, then Leddy gives you a more veteran option, while still giving you hope for more improvement (he's still only 23).

I haven't seen enough of Leddy to know. My first instinct is no. Nathan is almost 2 years younger and while Leddy is 'more polished' as you say, we don't know how Nathan is going to look this year. He may be at Leddy's level, though I wouldn't mind Leddy on the Habs. I'd be really curious to know what people are offering. Why would you send Chicago a player equally as good, when we'd be solving a CAP issue for them. That solution has value. I'd be offering Pateryn, or Dietz or Drewiske (or Bouillon ), not one of our better defense prospects. I doubt those other teams interested in Leddy are giving up a bunch [but it is an auction, unfortunately].

Last second question for the masses; with the Blackhawks signing Dan Carcillo they might be just hours away from dealing a defenseman to get under the cap... And they were in fact just hours away, as the Islanders picked up Leddy (and Johnny Boychuk) for three prospects; two defenseman and a goalie. On paper it looks like more or less the equivalent of Paetryn, Nygren and Tokarski. I guess the moral of the story is never get into a bidding war with Garth Snow.

So that means Tinordi makes the team? Although you want both Beaulieu and Tinordi to play every day, neither of them has anything to learn in the AHL.
To me this is also a message to guys like Emelin and Weaver and Gilbert that even though their places on the roster are secure, their ice time is not. Emelin should be better this year than he was last year coming off the knee injury, but if he's not then Tinordi is there to take his ice time. Same with Weaver even though he's on the right side. By keeping Tinordi over Bouillon, it makes for a more competitive dynamic on the blueline.
