Holland progression stalled ..... Last season was his turn to shine as a Bulldog.......1st line minutes were up for grabs and he sputtered all season long... I remember when we traded for him I thought we found a big 2 way forward to play on a shutdown line....... He was listed as 6'2" when we acquired him but lost 2" somehow .....was he part of the bourque/Cammalleri trade? He was, and we also got a second rounder that TT converted into Fucale. Holland was getting passed on the depth chart by a lot of forwards, and I figured he would not be qualified next summer unless he had a heck of a rebound.

They don't have to be blockbusters to improve your team.
Interesting fact about Tangradi. He actually suited up for the Bulldogs today in their third and final preseason game against the St. John's Ice Caps in NL. I guess he just reported to a different locker room today! The good guys won 4-0 and took two of three games and some bragging rights.

Tangradi was projected to be an impact power forward and even made a few top prospect lists after he was drafted. He never quite pannned out and then had concussion issues. Welcome to Hamilton and good luck!

I think the Ducks took Tangradi 1 pick before we took PK. I'm glad the Ducks took Tangradi. Also PK and Tangradi both played in Belleville

Telling or coincidental that with Bergevin's last few moves he has come out with the better "advanced stats" player? Tangradi measures out well in the possession stats (though not in the actual goal scoring department), as do Gilbert, Weaver and even Parenteau. Sign of things to come, or just a happy coincidence?
I don't know if they specifically targeted Tangradi, but I suppose if they did they like his size and intangibles and I guess they hope he's on the Brian Bickell career arc. I'm not sure he's an immediate replacement for Moen as Tangradi has virtually no penalty killing experience, but Bergevin traded from a position of depth (back goalie) for a position of need (backup fourth liners). Can't really complain about that I suppose.

What with the departure of Budaj, the dismissal of Bouillon, the loss of Gionta, and the likely trade of Moen, the Habs are slowing their age creep. They still have Markov, Gilbert, Malhotra, Parenteau, Bourque, Prust, and Plekanec (did I omit anyone?) in the 30ish bracket.

Moneyball? As for getting rid of Budaj, good, didn't want to lose Toker. Looks like he's not in the jets plans either.

feel bad for Budaj, asked for a trade from MTL so that he wouldn't end up that third wheel. Not sure why they sent him down, or why they even traded for him. Tangradi cleared waivers and was already in the AHL. Pick up a great back-up and risk losing him on Waivers? Was Peter Holland the Target?
This makes no sense at all.
