Ok, I know we're all deep into our drinks right now, but we have to have a post game thread to drown our sorrows, so here it is. We didn't suck, but we didn't play better than average and that wasn't good enough against an inspired Oiler team. Let's not make it two losses in a row.

That was frustrating. We played awful and lost to perhaps the weakest team we've played all year. Even though we played poorly we outplayed the oil who got all the calls and scored on their breaks.
How we are shut out by Ben Scrivens kills me. Did we test him at all?
Markov with a very poor game. Gilbert with his steady give aways. What bothers me with him is the unforced give aways. He is not good for this team.
Only bright spot was AGal. Man is that guy going to be good.
Mail ins include DD, Max, Pleks, Parenteau.
Could we please put Bournival in for Bourque. Has Bourque done anything this season?

I'm hoping to go to Vancouver for the Canucks game this Thursday. Anyone know which hotel Les Boys stay in?

I'm hoping to go to Vancouver for the Canucks game this Thursday. Anyone know which hotel Les Boys stay in? The Queensborough Hilton - cardboard boxes 61 to 85. You might have to fight your way in cuz the locals are rather touchy on who they share their digs with. Money, booze, cigarettes, recreational pharmaceuticals will always work, however the price will depend on whether or not the box comes furnished, by furnished I mean 6 or 7 newspapers......comfort has it's price u know.

Guesses would be the 4 seasons, Hyatt, Fairmont or Sutton Place, but those are just guesses. There are others downtown too, besides the Queensbourough Hilton.

Has Bourque done anything this season? Agree on Gilbert. Two giveaways during 1st period PKs that looked unforced. And where's the offence? I just don't see what he brings. Please - get Bourque out of the lineup. How bad does he have to be before the coaches notice? Shut out by a goalie that couldn't make it in Toronto - embarassing.

Sat in front of a good buddy's season ticket seats. Just by luck, not by planning.
Had to listen to it all night, and now will have to listen to it all season....grrrr.
No puck luck, but no real drive either. They now head to Cowtown where they have a losing streak over a decade long.
Hope they were just saving their energy for tonight.

I thought they generally played OK. The advanced stats would tell you that the Habs controlled possession, they had lots of zone time, but only a few quality chances. There were some good looks from in close in the 1st period, but we couldn't connect and then Benoit freaking Pouliot scores on an odd-man rush after a turnover at the blue line. Too many penalties, a poor PP, bad flow overall. Not a horrible performance, but they can do better.
Agree that Moen and Bourque don't make this team better. Rather see Sekac and Bournival, but I think MT likes the size and strength of Bourque and Moen.

My son are going to the game tonight in Calgary. Since we moved here from Mtl, we've seen one victory. To put it into perspective, my son was four years old the last time the Habs won here. He is now 16.

To be fair to Scrivens, he was lights out in Edmonton after the trade. It's not that he couldn't make it in TO, imo, the Leafs picked the wrong goalie.
Didn't watch the game. AST, and no sleep the night before meant I was in bed at 930 my time last night. I've never been able to understand what happens when they make a Western Canadian swing. It's like a funk/cloud comes over them.

Completely relying on goaltending. Ugh…..

We moved here in 1998, and it's been a tough haul watching the Habs lose every time they come here. Even though (generally speaking) the Habs have been better than the Flames over the last 16 years, all that matters is the day after a Habs-Flames game. I need a chance to gloat for a change.

That was a waste of $1000!! Had a great time at the game would have been better if the Habs won. We were only a couple of rows back from Gallagher's Mom and Grandmother. I was impressed with Galchenyuk and Subban, they seemed to have been the only two really trying. Can someone tell my why Desharnais is still on this team? Prust and Moen were ok as well....they were looking for dance partners all through the game, but no takers. I'm hoping the team puts in a better effort tonight! Go Habs!!

Count me as one of the lucky few who saw the Habs win in Calgary. Brian Savage had a hat trick. Yes it was in October.

A 7:30 MST start is like a 9:30 PM EST start for the players. I took a 9 hour time difference trip Eastward this summer and coming back was a lot harder than going there. Maybe that's it.

Well it is a lousy schedule. Three games in four nights across time zones. Scheduling like that sets teams up to fail.

There's no doubt that routine is a huge part of pro sports, and disruptions to those routines can have an affect. Still, the best teams find ways to overcome. Whether it's starting the day before the trip and treating it like you're in the other time zone, etc. They need to find a system that over comes it.

Including multiple games in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal. YEARS.
