So why call up a forward when you already have one sitting in the stands? Is it merely to replace the spot the injured Bournival had? Have Bourque and Moen fallen that far back in the depth chart?

I hope think Bourque has. The difference in our 3rd line with Sekac in was literally night and day. I hope that opened Therrien's eyes. He has to win and Sekac makes that much more possible than Bourque. Interesting that Bowman is called up. I'm not shocked, just a little surprised, but maybe he fits the replacement definition for a 3rd/fourth liner better than Andrighetto or Hudon who are more top 6 guys.

Considering how good a camp Drayson had ...
We need to inject some fire. Sekac is a start. Throwing Bowman and maybe DLR (who also had a great camp) is what the club needs to at the very least shake off the funk. If he seizes the opportunity and earns a permanent spot, good for him.

There is speculation that Bowman has either a stipulation in his contract or handshake agreement that he earns a certain salary..... Which means he needs to spend some time on NHL roster to earn a NHL salary.
Makes sense as he is not the hottest forward on the AHL roster. Hudon leads the Bulldogs in points, Thomas has a six game point streak, and hard leaving Andrighetto out of the discussion too

While we might all like to see a Hudon come up for a game while someone from the top six sits for a game to wake up, that isn't likely to happen.
