Any road win is a good win.....
8-1-0 in our last 9.
Only 12 GA in that string. Price with a stingy 11 GA in his last 8 games. He's on quite a roll.
We've built a +16 goal differential....not a tremendous gain....but it's going in the right direction.

Emelin looked pretty shaky tonight. Caught out on both NJ goals. Getting closer and closer to bringing Tinordi back into the fold?

Was kind of an up and down game ... Eller's line is really getting it done ... nice to see a PP goal and an empty-netter in the same game ... another good game by Price ... Subban and Beaulieu with good games ...
Cheers.

Should also mention the 4th line ... Bournival (2 goals), Andrighetto and Wiese with a good game ...
Cheers.

Hearing the name "Kinkaid" all night triggered two TV memories from childhood. "Chet" and "Reuben". Spelled "Kincaid" in both cases.

Emelin looked horrible on Ryder's goal. Flat-footed, stumbles and hands over the puck to Ryder. Didn't see the game. Just watched the 5 minute pack on NHL.com. I was at Big Wreck's show here in Halifax. Effing great show. Ears are ringing a tad .

That 3rd period was scary despite the Habs' overall superiority. The Lighting and the Leafs lost to better teams than the Devils. Let's see what happens tomorrow night, when the Habs visit the Penguins. If they win that game I'll be happy.

We're winning games we should win, which is good. To take the next step, though, we have to win against the teams we consider our SC competition. The Pens fit the bill. Let's take them and we can feel more confident than we do now.

Emelin looked pretty shaky tonight. Caught out on both NJ goals. Getting closer and closer to bringing Tinordi back into the fold? Emeiln is awful. He has finally fallen out of the top 4 and should not be in the top 6 when Weaver returns. I agree Tinordi should be given a chance. A benching either wakes Emiln up or we trade him. Beau on the other hand is gorgeous. Can't believe how ell he has been playing. I think Gonchar has helped him tremendously. Making the right decisions at both ends, and super soft hands. Still surprised we have to rely on Carey to steal these games. I thought we dominated but too many cross ice passes with sticks in the way.

He appears to have no hockey sense & makes terrible decisions. On top of that he has completely stopped hitting. Tinordi will learn from mistakes. Emelin keeps making them. Gilbert is not much better. On Camalleri's goal he had two whacks with TG standing right there. And Parenteau needs to sit if he is not in injured. I looked at his game log on ESPN.com & I count 1 goal in his last 20 games. Is his shootout skill keeping him in the lineup? Because his play indicates he should sit. In hindsight,(I know, I know) keeping Briere for one more year would have been better than two years of Parenteau.

Leafs lose 3-1 in Minny. Pens beat the Bolts. Good news. Leafs now 7th in conference with the Rangers & Panthers right behind & having multiple games in hand. Saw Kessel take a selfish, childish penalty. He wouldn't stop whining about a non call until the ref finally had enough & gave him an unsportsmanlike minor. Wonder how long Carlyle is going to last.

Kind of sorry I missed that ... Gerard Gallant's team is only two points behind with three games in hand and he's using the same system as Therrien is in Montreal ... he's also got two games in hand on the Bruins who are one point behind Florida ... the Habs have two games in hand on Tampa and are only one point ahead of them and one point behind the Penguins and Islanders for the conference lead ... the Rangers are hanging around, too ... only 89 GA, one point behind Washington with two in hand ... Cheers.

It's a long season and while you don't want to be fighting for a spot in April, you want to be playing near your peak then, not now. It's not the worst thing to be making mistakes now, but it would be nice to have our basics down and be properly executing a good system.

In hindsight,(I know, I know) keeping Briere for one more year would have been better than two years of Parenteau. Gotta say jkr, I totally disagree. The problem we have with Emelin, is who do you play him with that allows him to play HIS game. IMO, Emelin is a stay at home guy who clears the crease and delivers the hits to wingers flying down the wing. The problem with this style of player is that you need someone fast enough and smart enough to cover for him when he either gets caught / committed to a hit or misses the occasional one completely. So who do we have?? Markov? Slow as molasses now, and getting beat 2-3 times a game leaving his partner high and dry. Gilbert? Also slow. Weaver/Allen? Slow and not so smart IMO. So this leaves Subban or Beaulieu. Personally. I think Subban is the offensive mirror of Emelin. When Subban misses his check and he will, Emelin can't get back. That leaves Beaulieu. I think the Habs brass don't have enough confidence in Beau though, but I would. So In my mind, if we want Emelin to get back to where he was ... Put him with someone he knows can cover for him. Right now he is playing to tentative, almost as if he is afraid to get caught out of position. As for Parenteau. Parenteau has 4 game winning goals in the shootout and 1 game winning goal in the regular season. I personally think PAP has done very well. If we did not have PAP, there is no way we could put Galchenyuk at Center. Briere had 25 points last year. PAP has 15 already, and brings so many more intangibles that Briere doesn't. When we acquired Briere almost everyone (I don't include myself) was saying things like , "we got him for the playoffs" ... almost giving him an 82 game carte Blanche, which he seemingly used to the limit. His playoff numbers weren't worth keeping him around

Been a fan since the first album way back in 1997. Thornley is a phenomenal guitar player, and with three in the band, they have a really full sound live.

Emelin is bored I think. Need to hypnotize him so he thinks he's playing the Bruins every night. Maybe he'll get up for the pens. When he's on his game he's a great guy to have on the ice. Probably the only guy who makes other players keep their head up.
