Garbage? PK is lucky he wasn't ejected from the game. Connolly checked Markov, we see that let go all the time ... Markov wasn't hurt, so why go and spear/slash Yes. It doesn't matter that he wasn't hurt, he definitely could have been. Just because it happens all the time, it doesn't somehow make it more permissible. They both deserved penalties on that one, not a Bolts PP that leads to the possible game winner. What penalty would you have given Connolly? Interference? Nope, the puck was there He fell on him after he checked him because his leg was sore from Markov's wrister to the ankle and mainly because Markov fell down.

Bad play by Gilbert, no back check and a pick on Gilbert missed by the ref.

Gilbert with the giveaway ... terrible line change ... no defensive coverage ... didn't need to see that ...
Cheers.

3-1
Sportsnet crew has bee harping on how we haven't lost all year if we score first ... So you knew we would lose

Yeah, we're definitely not playing smart. Often that first game from a road trip sucks and it certainly is for us. I kept wondering where did the red shirts go? A 4 on 2. Cooper has Therrien's number. Now we're shorthanded and I think they'll score. It's that type of game.

They should know better than this. A bad penalty to make the game 2-1 and the wheels fall off? Come on. Tampa's running away with yet another game.

Lose so many similar battles and result is goals like that against this team...as good as they are not sure they can beat the Bolts or Rangers in a 7 game series at this point.

Now THAT'S a powerplay. 4-1. Game over and TV off. Well, it's a 5 on 3 because we broke a stick. I think we read too many press clippings and weren't ready for this game. Too pumped instead of being relaxed. Therrien should have taken them bowling.

That's why you have to work it so those teams play each other first, get the crap beaten out of them and then you cruise to victory. Or something like that.

If Subban deserves the blame, then he'd better own it. These guys haven't learned the Gordie Howe strategy of retribution. You don't get back right away. But a week, a month, or two later. Wham, when they're not expecting it and you remind them why at that time. Course, these days you'd probably get suspended.

That last PK was just effin brutal.
Gilbert & Emelin are really hard to watch. Was their Pittsburgh game an aberration?

The puck's relative proximity to the play was purely incidental (and neither Markov or Connolly played the puck just prior to the hit, and neither were trying to play puck either). I'm not saying Subban was blameless. But a penalty should have gone the other way. .

After Gilbert and Emelin were lauded for their play against Pittsburgh, they're -2 and -1 tonight and Emelin was the guy who's stick broke to turn that PP into a 5 on 3.

If this was Buffalo, I'd be angry.
The Bolts are the better overall team right now.
The reason we have only 13 shots is the Bolts defense.

Yeah, that didn't help....but the Bolts looked REAL good. And on the PP to make it 2-1. If we were playing better, they'd a) have fewer PP opportunities and b) not look so good when they do get them. Having said that, their PP has often looked good. And when you look at the quality of their personnel, I wonder why because they're not that good. Chicago, yeah, you see Kane, Toews, Sharp, Keith and Seabrook and you understand why. Cooper has a good system, obviously and the one thing they seem to do is have a lot of patience. They fake a lot of stuff and don't do anything until you've reacted to the fake and given them space, so my first defense against them is to play the fake first. Let them shoot if they want to and count on Carey to make the saves on the obvious stuff. Play them to fake, and see how they react to that.

The guy getting on the ice for Connolly was well on the ice, if not in the play, when Connolly runs into Markov. But PK's nonsense is just plain stupid. When you're on the bench you don't engage!

Measuring stick game.....
Coming up short.
MB should have plenty of notes.
Why only 13 shots after 2?
Our skill? Or is their D is just too good?

I'd have to see it again....but that seemed like a weak call on Max there.
Price with two big saves, the second of which he didn't know he made....
