Oh, and for all the MT-haters, I hope you took note of why Galchenyuk's not at center: he told the coach he found the responsabilities of being a center to be too much, and he's more comfortable on the wing for now. Please provide a link or reference when you have the time, PTH, thanks ... I really find it odd that he'd request something like this, more so when I think his first and only hat-trick came when he was at centre ... I thought he played some of the best hockey I've ever seen him play ... that's just me, though ... Cheers. It was an interview clip, by MT, in English, on RDS before Saturday's game. I'm unaware of any articles I could link to, but there was no misunderstanding: MT was saying that Galch wanted to be at center. And let's keep in mind, he must know that he hasn't been on fire these last few games, I think he lost every single faceoff against Columbus.

I think Bergevin's next move(s) will probably be near the trade deadline ... I'd also be surprised if his next move involved a roster player ... I don't what he and Therrien are thinking but I suspect this is the lineup we'll see going into the playoffs ... there could be movement between Montreal and Hamilton but removing an established member of the team might not be the right message ... just and opinion ... Cheers. I think you might find Jaromir Jagr in red-white-blue before this season is in the books. That's our Vanek trade. Plekanec and Jagr on the same line, they thrived off each other when playing for their country. I'd rather look at Drew Stafford, myself. It all depends on the cost.

Stafford, to me, is more like a third line winger. Kinda like Weise, maybe not as fast, a bit bigger and stronger and a little better scorer. Jagr is a top 6 winger, which is more of what we need. It amazed me how he was basically Boston's best player in the playoffs a couple of years ago. And he's still scoring. He doesn't have the top end speed he once had, but he can keep up and he holds onto the puck like no one's business. A really good guy to put with a scorer because it often takes more than one guy to check him and he's a really good passer. You can't play him to pass though, because he still pops them in himself. There's a lot to like as long as Bergevin feels the same way. It's a 2 month rental, for sure, so you can't give up much for him.

Jagr for Andrighetto or Thomas? The last time he was traded , to the Bruins, it was for two prospects and a draft pick. I think one of our prospects and our second rounder could get it done.

..."I had a long conversation with Alex, confirmed Therrien. As a coach I must make sure that a young player is placed in a setup to succeed. To maintain his confidence level. I asked him where he felt more at ease. Playing center is a lot of responsibilities. He told me that he was more comfortable at wing and that he’d play better at that position. He won’t have to think as much, he’ll have fewer responsibilities. We took this decision together to return him to the wing.” In French: www.journaldemontreal.com/2015/01/17/galchenyuk-a-laile-desharnais-au-centre

Cheers.

If we can get him shooting more and DD finds him often enough, it could be a decent line. Any line with Galchy on it has a chance to be dangerous. I just want to see him become a real focus for the opposition, which would mean he scares the hell out of them. I'm not that concerned whether its at centre or wing. (Why not right wing?) A lot of left handed players are very dangerous coming in off right wing as their shooting side is on the dangerous centre side of that wing. It's so important to have at least two scoring lines that can threaten and two more that can't be ignored offensively either. If we take the approach that we won't have a stud centre this year (unless Berg can ply Eric Staal away without hurting the current line-up), our biggest needs are still a top 6 right winger and another defenseman, say in the #4 spot range. I think our current top 4 are ok, but injuries are a concern and even if Gilbert and Emelin can improve and more into that top 4 when injuries occur, I'd love to see them and Weaver and maybe Tinordi as guys who can be in our bottom pairing. Normally, two guys like Gilbert and Emelin would be better than 95% of the other bottom pairing dmen in the league. Tough to get either of those components, though. I don't see anyone in Hamilton to fill either of those roles either (with the exception of Tinordi for the bottom pairing).
