Thought it might've ended up a 2-0 empty net Flyers' win, the way it was going.
We kept the pressure on, though...the Flyers went into a shell very early, it seemed.
Good on DD for the potting the OT winner.
Bruins lose at home to Dallas.
Leafs tie the Rangers at 4 in the third....but lose 5-4 in regulation.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think we'd score tonight but it turned out to be a hard-fought win ... the Flyers are now 5-0-2 and they're serving notice that there's another kid approaching the playoff block ... onto the Oilers ... what can we expect on Thursday ...
Cheers.

Lucky bounce on the winner. Flyers definitely had scoring chances in the first half. Giroux's breakaway being a prime one. Flyers have some weapons. Giroux and Voracek with over 50 points and Streit has 38 points of his own. 6 players with more than 10 goals. They've scored more goals than Montreal this year.
A stay at home blue liner than can 'post up' in front of the net and a legit goal scorer; get those things and they're set up for a run.

And the Habs keep winning! Fourth overall and only 3 points from the top. Can't think of a single thing to complain about other then our PP although we got 3 the other night.

With emery in net i somehow felt it was only a matter of time. His d was blocking everything and I think he only saw half the shots he was facing. their d is not very good and all our lines were going from the midway point. Eller had a good game and i think his line works. Prust has been playing very well. I really like our speed on the 4th line and Rosey brings some size and smarts.
And how about Chucky? Wow, is he a player. Don't think i would trade him straight up for any of the Oilers first overalls. He's going to be great one.
Is it my imagination or does Marky think he's a forward the last few games?

Solid win. Seems the team took my complaint the other day about them waiting for the perfect shot to heart, as they were firing from just about everywhere. Yeah, that leads to a lot of blocked shots, but that's the way teams play now; everybody blocks shots. So you might as well take them and home a few get through, or you get some bad bounces, or whatever.
De la Rose is starting to look more and more comfortable. Don't see a lot of creativity from him, but he can play in this league. Thomas... I'm not so sure. He works really hard, but I don't know if he has the smarts to be an effective NHL player.
Onwards and upwards!

They look much better trailing 1-0 than protecting a lead. That's probably true of a lot of teams but there was some great puck possession, puck movement, just a dominant game from a Corsi standpoint. Great skill play by Galchenyuk to set up the zone entry on Pleks' goal.
You just want to bottle that effort, which is even more impressive that it came on a "Tuesday night in February" AKA the "dog days" of the hockey season.

Quite remarkable to keep up that pace and eventually wear down Philly.
