I posted this in the Habs Prospects board, in the Habs Propects 2014-15 thread but it is such an amazing goal I had to post it here. Can't wait to see this kid in Les Tricolore.

Nice. There's our top 6 right winger...next year. Who needs Kessel?

IMO, add in the fact he's very intelligent in interviews, I think the Habs grabbed a real sleeper with this one. Years from now, people are going to wonder how so many teams skipped him. I don't say that about many, but that's the vibe I get from him.

Scherby just needs to get stronger to be able to compete against men, because the skill set and IQ are there. But then again, the kid just turned 19 on New Year's Eve's Eve.

I hope the kid is a star but Jr hockey is a far cry from the NHL....as long as this kid has the work ethic then we could have another special player but until that point he's just another tadpole in the pond.

HFTO, fair to say. I don't typically laud praise like I did. As impressive as he is on the ice, it's his interviews that suggest a bright future. He's very well spoken, quick witted, and has a sense of humour. All of that suggest a high level of intelligence. It's that quick thinking that has me excited. With his physical attributes it's a very tantalizing package.

That particular goal, to me, is nice but not something that any number of other good juniours couldn't do as well. He made a nice move at the blue line to avoid the hip check, but after that it's just speed and moving to the open. He finished well. The first play where the puck was taken from him, was more skillful IMO. Not that I don't like him. I do. A lot. Good size, speed and skill, and a ton of character.

Mehh...not impressed. Did anyone see any bodies laying around? Hmm? Was anyone hanging from his back? Did he deck anyone before or after the goal? You didn't, did you? So how was that impressive? I say trade him now that he reached his peak before he becomes another Ruskie peac0ck.

I didnt think the goal qualified as amazing. It was a good goal, where he showed great speed, maybe a sweet goal. On his first attempt, he tried to dangle too much and gets stripped. Shows good character by recognizing he has to get back and finds the puck along the half boards. Maybe its just me, but that move at the blueline to avoid the two opposition players was pure LUCK. He backhands the puck off the opposition's skate to avoid going offside/getting hit. Does a really great job to find the puck once again, and then has all kinds of open space where no one is near him to skate in an fire it home. It was a nice goal.
I really like Scherbak, but he wont be dipsy doodling like that at the next level. These are the type of plays I kinda expect from him actually at this level.
