A win is a win....but man, did we look pathetic.
The two shootout goals were our only real highlights.
That's 4 straight games against terrible teams in our barn....and we darn near blew it again.

There's such a difference in style when you compare the Wings to us, despite what I think is a disaparity in talent. Oh well.

Perfect, 2 points for us, the leaves get a point. The further away from McDavid the better.

Our D was gassed after the 2nd period, and that was very evident in the OT. Very fortunate for Price to get them to a shootout.
Forwards need to stop looking for the pretty play. Take it to the net; get an offensive zone faceoff if there's no other play.

I didn't think it would hurt to see the kid line on for just one PP shift ... liked the efforts of Prust, DLR, Thomas, Bournival, Beaulieu and Price ... get this team on the road ... edit: He may have made a few gaffs tonight but Subban was a trooper ... logged a lot of minutes ...
Cheers.

Didn't watch. Followed game on twitter. We need to add goals. Simple as that. As long as Max is the only real sniper, we're going to struggle from time to time. Come playoffs, when goals get even harder to find, we need to find another shooter.

1) Don't use BGal in a shoot out! How about Max or even Thomas.
2) Did someone tell Pleks that the playoffs started? He's playing like crap.
3) CBC took every chance to criticize PK yet he played a lot of minutes and still controlled the play.
4) Rosey is great! Can't recall when the last time a teenager in NHL impressed me in so many facets of the game.
5) Clarkson is a dick! $5 million plus for a goon. Only in TO.

Couldn't believe Hughson ended the game by saying "It took overtime and an all-world goalie to beat the Leafs". Really?

If you say it with a Habs' fan's sarcasm, yes. But Hughson doesn't make jokes. He was sucking up to his audience. The Habs played like garbage. Hope Gonchar's okay.

5) Clarkson is a dick! $5 million plus for a goon. Only in TO. OK, it's from a Leaf cheer-leader, but . . . Lots of bad contracts seem like a good idea at the time, only to turn sour as the years go by. Clarkson’s deal, signed on the first day of free agency last summer, was almost universally panned from the very moment it was announced. I hated it. Sports Illustrated said “the money is unnerving, but the term is absolutely frightening.” Yahoo said it “has regret written all over it.” Sporting News used the deal to call the Maple Leafs free agency’s “biggest losers — by a lot.”Hockey's Worst Contracts: 1. David Clarkson, Toronto Maple Leafs

LOL. So many high hopes and drama in Toronto. No thank you. I missed that. Too funny. It's too bad the habs don't feel the same hate for the leaves and their bandwagon as the rest of us. This rivalry is more about the fans and media than the teams themselves.

I think we would have lost if it weren't for Price ... they gave him as much support in OT as they did for Tokarski against the Oilers ... is it just me or does Kessel look like a pear ... Cheers.

Therrien, post-game...
Beaulieu did what he was supposed to do. He gained a lot of respect from his teammates.
We competed tonight. It was not an easy game to play, (because of being down 2 dmen for most of the second period.)
I take a look at the last 5 games....and we got 9 out of 10 points. I look at the big picture.

Would anyone take Iggy for the rest of season, and 2 more, at a cap hit of $5.33 million? On pace for 25g on a bad Avs team. He leads them in scoring this year.

You know, BLNY, I thought about Iggy this morning ... he's the kind of character guy that Berg would covet ... a veteran who'd definitely help out with the youth on the team ... Cheers.

I'll be honest, I hadn't thought of him until after I posted earlier in this thread. Just popped in the head. He scored 30 for Boston last year, and has 19 points in his last 27 playoff games. He's up there in age, but I don't think he'd be unmovable if it didn't work out. I think he'd help 5-on-5 scoring, our power play, and he'd up the experience and leadership quotient on the team. Not only is he leading the Avs in scoring, but Tanguay is right behind him. Duchene and MacKinnon are having tough years. I wonder if the Avs would do a deal for him like we did for Briere. Send the last year of PAP back, and a pick, for the last two years of Iggy.

RW, too. Exactly what we need, in terms of scoring help up front.
(Other than an elite #1 C.)

Panik really took a liberty with Price, too.
I know he got a penalty....but he should've been rubbed out.
That was shoulder into head.

Speaking of Gonchar and pathetic CBC. It took them 10 minutes into the second to tell us Gonchar wasn't on the bench. And that was after ranting about PK taking long shifts; yet Gonachar is injured and Beau is in the box for 15 minutes. Great coverage guys I'm thinking if t was a Leaf dman that was hurt we would have had 30 second updates of his status, and we sure as heck would have heard about the amazing feat of the Leafs D playing most of the game with 5 D.

Those were definite highlight goals. Galchenyuk dekes Bernier out of his skates and DD with a cheeky backhander to the top of the net.

Perfect, 2 points for us, the leaves get a point. The further away from McDavid the better. You beat me to the point I was trying to make, althoughthye odds of their getting McDavid are slim, considering their competition consists of Edmonton, Buffalo, Carolina, and Arizona.

Iggy would fit in fine, this year, 2 more at 5.33, no thanks.
