Our PP continues to lack any semblance of a system. Subban tries to do it all....and we almost get burnt. Great backcheck by Max. PK usually stays on for the entire 2 minutes of a PP (the entire 4 minutes of one earlier this week), and he is suppose to be the PP QB, No one will say it, but he has to start taking the bulk of the blame for the PP. Can he be the PP general or not? So far I don't think he can. He wants to make everything flashy, and successful PP typically get garbage goals not highlight reels Agree...but how much is solely on him? A #1 dman with his offensive skill is supposed to get the puck a lot on the PP. The rest is up to Therrien/Lacroix to instruct. Are the other players carrying out their assignments?

It's what he does with the puck though ... Hangs onto to the puck too long. Always wants to do his Soobie Doo at the blueline. Always goes for the slap shot. His shot gets blocked more often than gets through, and goes wide more often than hits the net. If he just learned to read the situation better, he'd be blowing the other Defense away in points. It's frustrating to watch sometimes, for me anyway.

You have to open up lanes to get the puck through and the easiest way to do that is move the puck and force the top defenders to move along with it. They can't keep up, so eventually you should get a lane to wrist the puck at the net. If your forward in front of the goalie is doing his job, that improves the probability of the puck sneaking through. It's not hard, but the puck has to move fast. Anyway, gotta go now, can't stand this internet feed. It's way too balky today.

Don't know what Therrien said to the troops between periods but it looks like they're just putting as many pucks on net as the can ... that's the first shift anyway ...
Cheers.

If our forwards see the Defense twisting and twirling at the blueline, when there are open men at the boards, and see the shots getting fired wide and blocked , all the while they are taking a beating in front of the net ... It doesn't take long until you start timing when you think a shot will come and you are just that second too late to screen the goalie. The emphasis should be on getting the shot through, not on how hard it is shot.

Absolutely no sustained offensive zone pressure by the Habs.
Are the playoffs going to be like this? Playing for a 1-0 game?
Gah! Blood pressure meds, please!

Possession time has to be in favour of the Wings by a quite a margin.

Pacioretty interfered with, just enough, trying to head down the left side after a loose puck.
No call. Gonna take more than that, I suppose.....

That was some pass by Weise ... I'm not sure he is a playoff solution for the top line, but that was top class recognition there
