It would be nice if the guys played a good one for their back-up goalie. Give him some confidence back for the home stretch. Price will need rest before playoffs.

man, if we don't win this one . . . The Sens have pretty well beaten every bottom dweller we have lost to. They always play us hard and they're always motivated against us. They have some nice young pieces in Hoffman and Lazare. No Neil or Smith tonight but the neanderthal Borowiecki is playing

So the Sens have a guy making his NHL debut in net, and their backup was just called up from the ECHL. We have Tokarski who has looked rather shaky for spurts in a lot of his most recent starts. Not as one sided as it should be given the current NHL standings. Add the fact that the Sens just seem to be able to play us tough.
Out with some lads to catch this game in a local watering hole, although one of my buddies has to leave early as he is off to Rexall to see the Oil-Bs game, with Malcolm Subban making his NHL debut. Wonder if PK's ice time tonight will almost be as much as his brother's.
Can we just get a non-nail biter for once tonight?

Sekac and Pateryn in. Malhotra and Weaver scratched. Bigger, younger and quicker. Good move against the Sens.

Weaver's one of my favourite players, so it's sad to see him get so little respect. He has to feel it, having a 24 year old take his place. I didn't think he had a bad game last time out, but this close to the trade deadline there's often more than talent going into line-up decisions. Some GM considering a deal with Pateryn might want to see him in an NHL game. Ergo....
I also don't believe either Malhotra or Weaver lack in effort or attitude. One thing I've noticed about Malhotra is that he just doesn't have the foot speed he used to have. Given his skill set, that's a real setback for him. Sekac for Malhotra is definitely an upgrade and I don't mean just offensively. Eller now has to become our prime face-off man, as that's not a strength of DLR and certainly not one of DD's. Pleks is ok most of the time, but not in the top 20 in the league IMO. That shouldn't hurt much against Ottawa thought (famous last words).

I'll be missing the first period (at least) ... but I'll have my phone to check updates ... I don't know, though ... kind of hard getting up for this one ... Ottawa plays us well just about every time regardless who's in nets ... will check in from time to time anyway ...
Cheers.

Domingue was making his 1st NHL start & his 2nd NHL appearance. They score two quick goals then did nothing the rest of the way. I think I would go with Price in this one & Tokarski tomorrow. I think Price in in the oppositons' heads right mow. Why give Ottawa hope.

Listening to Send radio before the game. Saying "this should be a smear" and "if the Habs pay like they can the game should be over within 5 minutes". Of course, talk like that scares me, though it is right.

Emelin injured trying to check Stone and falling into boards. Helped off ice but on his own steam.

PK holds onto it too long (again). Then loses it and Ottawa gets a chance on goal. He's as stubborn as Therrien.

I see a play like Desharnais just made....and I can't help but think a legit #1 centre doesn't lose the puck so easily. He takes it by that dman.
I like Davey....I really do.
It's just....how many MORE plays could be made....

I don't understand why, when you have a guy like Karlsson on the point and you're defending, why you don't cheat on him to discourage his teammates from passing him the puck to him? Who would I rather have the puck?
A) Karlsson? B) anyone else?
Duh. So cheat toward him. Let the other guys pass the puck around. It's not rocket surgery.

We're playing our usual disciplined defensive game. Good thing Toker thinks he's Price tonight.

Not sure when it became ok to rub a guy out before he gets to the puck on a dump, like Prust just was.

Hammonds been luckier IMO. Toker has seen most of the shots he's saved. Hammond not so much.

Looked as if Emelin jammed his shoulder going into the boards awkwardly. Does that, as Sportsnet is saying, get Bergevin looking for another Dman....OR....does Tinordi get called up? Does Pateryn get his chance? We're gonna have to start dressing 8 D.
