Always in the right place.

Detroit with an impressive effort ... they had the Habs penned in for most of the game, or so it seemed ...
Cheers.

Price with 30 shutouts now. 4 behind Durnan. Think he just passed Roy in the SO dept. He's number 1 in SP; he may have passed Rinne in the GAA catergory after this game. Habs 1st in the league in goals against but 27th in goals for.

I stopped watching and they score 2 goals and win. I need to do that more often. Glad the boys won. I was frustrated watching this one.

DLR is drawing praise from the SN crew ... as for the game, I know we outshot the Wings but it was almost like stealing the game when Pleks scored ... our club seemed to be on their heals quite a bit ... Cheers.

Our PP is also near the bottom: 24th @ 16.8%. That's why, in one way, this is such a huge opportunity. All it takes is a bit of improvement in our scoring, in our PP or in our zone clearance and the way Price is shutting the door, we could go all the way. If, if, if. Berg has to do his job and Therrien has to improve and we COULD...GO....ALL...THE....WAY!

Cammy would be a huge mistake. Don't want any part of his attitude or salary and over valued talent.
Jagr for sure. I'd even take Iggy and his extra years of salary to go for it this year. He's hungry for a cup, is a leader and would be exactly what we need up from: size, offence, and a right winger

Price now 1st in GAA AND save %. GAA is a miniscule 1.93. He may not win a trophy that is voted on but he's got a real shot at the Jennings.

No love for Dale "4th Line" Weise, with that little touch pass between the legs for the winning goal??
I love how after he made the pass Weise didn't even turn to watch the play. He just calmly skated to the bench for a line change/goal celebration. Somebody needs to make a gif of him on that play raising his arm and dropping the mic. Because that's what it looked like to me. "Pass, goal, I'm out."
I thought that was a great road game against a team that has been playing very good. They showed a stat on RDS last night about which teams have been playing the best since Christmas (I think - I forget now what was the cutoff date) and while Montreal and Nashville were 1-2, Detroit was 5th. They've been playing very good hockey of late. We went in there and ground out a tough, playoff-style win. It wasn't as physical as some playoff games are, but Detroit doesn't play that style. But it was an extremely close-knit, checking affair.
I'm really liking de la Rose's play. He's so mature and calm for a 19 year old. Pity he doesn't have any offensive ability (yet?) because he looks so much like a pro. And he's going to be BIG. He already looks bigger than Eller, though that may just be the style of shoulder pads he wears. Still.
I thought it was a solid game against a very good team. It may not have appeared to have been much, but once again, for some strange reason, the team showed that they can stink against the bottom feeders and get up for the league's upper-tier. Don't get it myself, but there you have it.
Also really liked the gesture for Patrice Langlois, the equipment manager. I don't know if that was spontaneous or not (hard to see them doing it if they lost), but it was super classy. I'd like to know who suggested it.

Which is why most pundits say we're all/mostly Price. And it's tough to argue. 1993 I've said it before, and I'll say it again. That 1993 cup run wasn't on Roy's back imo. An argument could have easily been made for Damphousse to win the Conne Smythe. Roy had flashes of brilliance that year, but he also had moments of complete lapse in concentration. You could say that about the whole group I suppose. Finished third in a division with three teams over 100pts because they tanked over the last 10-12 games. Prior to it, they were well ahead.

Which is why most pundits say we're all/mostly Price. And it's tough to argue. 1993 At least we were 9th in GF out of 30 teams that year. 3.88 goals-per-game. Yes, different era….but relatively speaking, sitting 22nd overall at 2.57 goals per game is a pre careyous position to be in. I know you're talking about the 10 OT wins….and that's fine…but at least those Habs could score. Even in the 93 playoffs, the Habs averaged 3.30 GPG over the 20 games, while allowing 2.55. More pressure on Price to keep the GA under 2.00.

This morning on the 690 they were talking about getting Kessel. The more I think about it, and listen to other opinions.....I'm thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a play for him.

I understand what you are saying, and I agree -- we need more cowbell goals. but we go as far as Carey carries us . . . and it's all about the playoffs (see: Habs v Rangers, spring, 2014)
