No easy games for this Habs team ... Florida is three points behind Boston with a game in hand so I suspect it will be another close one ...
Cheers.

This team needs goal scorers or we won't last long in the playoffs.

I don't want to take away anything from Markov or Subban ... these guys log a tonne of minutes every game ... but the guy who has done the most for our blue line corps this year, I feel, has been Gonchar ... a cut and paste from TSN.ca:: On Thursday morning, the team announced that Sergei Gonchar was placed on injured reserve. Gonchar was hurt after a hit against the glass by David Clarkson in Saturday's 2-1 Montreal win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.Could the timing be worse ... Cheers.

Cheers. i don't think the timing could be better. Give Gonchar a rest for the home stretch and playoffs. Let the young players get some valuable ice time (Tinordi, Pateryn, Beau) and let MB figure out what we need via trade for a good push this year. And next year for when Gonchar is gone. We know we're a playoff team. the only real question is where do we land in the standings and whether we get home game advantage for some of the series. Given how erratic we play I don't see us taking first and we're pretty good on the road so I don't see it matters much if we struggle in the next few weeks. Much rather have injuries now than in March and April.

If anybody knows how to beat the Habs, it's Gallant.
Not feeling good about this one. The Panthers can smell the playoffs….and we're banged up.
Speaking of that, as per Mitch Melnick, we find out at 5:15 whether or not Subban will be in the lineup. There was no morning skate, no media….so MT will do his pre-game at that time.

I'm going to predict Pateryn in, PK out. Markov-Gilbert Beaulieu-Pateryn Tinordi-Weaver
It's a test, for sure.

Eller bournival and sekac need to score a goal tonight because the lack of consistent production for our bottom 2 lines is hurting us.
I really want eller and bournival to score. They look like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders. Bournival has been a shell of his former self since he got hurt.

Cheers.
edit: here it is,
John Lu @johnlutsnmtl 24m24 minutes ago #Habs Tinordi will partner with Pateryn tonight.

What a warrior Markov has been over his tenure here.
Like Koivu.
On better teams, they're champion-quality players.

Sounds good, even if he doesn't play today, it looks like a bruised foot, nothing broken. If it's only a deep bruise then that's fortunate ... that looked really bad last night ... he hobbled around all of the 3rd period and he was still effective ... Cheers.

Tinordi Pateryn pairing is good for both the young guys, as they did play together in Hamilton. There is some familiarity.
MT mentioned that he is hoping Gonchar is ready next week, and that Emelin is out at least a week and will be re-evaluated next week.
Rather amazing that all three of Beau, Tinordi and Pateryn are playing tonight. Hope the latter two take advantage of these unfortunate injuries and make it harder on management to send them back down to Hamilton (which will be inevitable once the other return in order to keep within the roster size restriction).

Another reason i want Tinordi up is he's fought borwieski and did well against him. He also fought gryba and did well against him.

I've got two twitter accounts and I have to delete one of them ... be darned if I can figure it out sometimes ... Kind of reminds me of Rivet, Wilkie and Fitzpatrick back in the day ... Cheers.

Like some others have alluded to, some adversity might help this team out in the long run. Learn how to win without some of the guys that are leaned on.
