Man, do we need scoring.
3rd time in the last while we've blown a 2-0 lead.
Arizona, Edmonton, now Florida.
We need something.
That said, we should've had at least 3 more PPs in that game.

What would the PP's have done? They don't score on them either. *shrug*

Did Tinordi play in the 3rd? was he hurt

Sometimes, you can play really well and lose.
Frustrating, but there was quite a few positives to take from this one.
I'm glad Toker wasn't in this one. Outshoot a team 2-1, and lose? He'd get crucified.

Finding it hard to take them seriously now. Not only losing to poor teams but blowing leads. Brutal to watch. Kampfer's goal was his 1st in 1,062 days according to RDS. Come to MTL to break your slump.

They played pretty well and really controlled the game so it's just one of those things. Good effort after the loss to Ottawa, PK wasn't 100%, but they needed more finish. Sekac played well, great puck control and overall aggressive play, Tinordi looked fine but he needs a few games to get comfortable, Pleks with a great chance near the end....again, these are the dog days of the season but I thought they showed good competitiveness and outshot them by about 2 to 1.
Keep moving and get Galchenyuk back in there.

I'm gonna say this now, but if the team is waiting for Tinordi to become a good fighter before letting him play everyday they're gonna be waiting a long time.

I thought they did a good job in puck possession ... liked what I saw from Tinordi and Pateryn ... they were paired together in the AHL for a while and I'd like to see them again against Columbus ... I'm hoping they eventually give Bergevin some options ... Sekac didn't score but I thought he had one of his best games as a Hab ... Gallagher just does his thing and goes to the net ... would be nice to have a young centre like Nick Bjugstad ... and, yes, to echo the general sentiment, we need scoring ... Cheers.

He threw some good checks, made some good stick checks. I have this feeling that if he goes elsewhere, he'll turn into a pretty good defensive defenseman.

It wasn't that painful because they picked up a point and the other point was donated to a good cause. The Panthers are now within a whisker of another team named after an animal. I stayed up late Saturday night to watch that shootout in Edmonton. It was highly gratifying.

If Galchy has the flu, that explains his horrible game against Ottawa.
Gilbert was strong against his former team.
Pateryn and Tinordi give this D a much bigger, more physical look. We should get used to it... with Weaver and Gonchar UFAs, I expect those 2 to stick next season.
Thank heavens the top top line produced a couple of goals because there isn't much offense in this lineup.
I blame Eller for the first goal against, his lame defensive coverage led to everyone running around.

And he got the extra 2. It was bullSaperlipopette reffing He got the extra 2 for interference as he hit a player in pursuit of the puck. I didn't really have a problem with that call. He had time to gather himself in that fight. He just can't take advantage of his reach/size, and doesn't protect himself well enough.

The proof in the pudding of our lack of scorers is illustrated by MT's selection for the shoot out. We have BGal in our top 3 when he only scores from tough fighting goals in the crease, and then we move rather quickly to two defencemen named Subban and Markov. We are clearly offensively challenged. MB has some work to do. And I'm not waiting on PAP to come back. I'm good with our D depth. MB has to get a top 6 forward with a scoring touch!

The issue I have is they didn't call the instigator. It's like the NHL is bi-polar. They don't want fighting so they put in the instigator rule, but they don't call it so it means they do want fighting.

I had no problem with THAT call either ... but I did have a problem with the ref not calling an instigator penalty on Ottawa. Those instigator are important now, as they can lead to suspensions, and this was clearly one that should have been called.

42 shots, and 39 shots, and we lose both games. We need to go back to being badly outshot, so we can get a winning streak going. I'm going to rain on the Tinordi parade a little bit. I thought he made quite a few bad passes, passes that were, in the immortal works of Bob Ueker, "just a little bit outside". He seemed to be turning the puck over a lot, and in a close game I was okay with not having his confidence shattered with a game-lossing mistake. He needs to be a little sheltered, so I was okay with his ice time. I thought Paetryn was much more solid, though he too made a couple of bad passes. Beaulieu on the other hand, just keeps getting better. That Gonchar acquisition may not look great on paper when all is said and done, but the effect it has had on Nate has been totally worth it. Makes me actually begin to wonder if it would be worth it to bring back Gonchar next year, just to mentor Tinordi.

Everyone keeps talking out our defence.....it's fine, even with the injuries. We need front line scoring, forget about picking up another defenceman.

I imagine there were some jitters ("if I make a mistake will I be sent right back down?") and then some off-passes (bound to happen while he gets his NHL feet back). now if he is in the PB next game then I think he's gone.

... in the immortal works of Bob Ueker, Great trigger, thanks ... Obtaining Gonchar was a great move ... Beaulieu benefited from it and I can't see how Tinordi wouldn't, or Pateryn for that matter ... thought we deserved a better fate last night ... like Gallagher's game a lot ... going to the net ... hockey 101 ... Cheers.
