Tinordi needs a solid 5 games on the 3rd pair, in sheltered assigments, to get his comfort and confidence level up. It's been a combination of a numbers game and a lack of confidence from management that has stalled Tinordi but the ability and skill set are there, IMO, for him to succeed. But he needs to make the most of it. With Emelin out for what looks like a few weeks, Tinordi is never going to get a better opportunity than RIGHT NOW to establish himself in the rotation and force the issue on MT/Bergevin.

Right on BH. The kid needs time, with a mentor if possible... would love for him to be paired with Markov but that wont happen

I'm all for giving Tinordi a 5 game stint. Especially now. Wins are not that important and having tinordi ready to go at playoffs would be huge. As for his mistakes; must say I don't see hime any more prone than our other D. All our other D have numerous unforced turnovers and icings each game. It's all a roulette game of which dman's mistake ends up in the back of our net when Carey can't bail them out.So if Mt can't see that then he's an idiot. At least with tinordi, he can hit unlike our other D who rarely want to mix it up.
As for Gonchar, I'm not sure he'd help Tinordi. Gonchar and Beau play a similar type of game so Gonchar can help him. Tinirod needs a big stay at home to mentor. We don't have any except maybe allen and I'm not sure I want him teaching anyone.

I agree they are not the same type of D man, but Gonchar can be a security blanket for Tinordi, an outlet when he gets in trouble. similar to what Markov did for Komisarek... Markov was so good he turned Komisarek into one of the BIG 4 in Toronto (in no way is Tinordi going to be a Komisarek)

Man that guy bugs me sometime. He bugs me because it's the chicken versus egg thing with him all the time... I'm punishing you by taking away ice time because you made a mistake, but the only way to not make mistakes is to get more ice time.
