That's a high stick. It went down to hit the cross bar.

It'll be inconclusive....and ruled a goal on the ice.

And maybe not, the other angle was a better look.

Ruled the puck hit the stick below the crossbar.
Not our night so far.
I know there were likely no other options at the deadline (without upsetting the roster), but Gallagher and DD are simply too small for a same-line playoff run. Pacioretty will never see the puck when push comes to shove.
MT is going to have to figure out something else.
I was kinda, sorta hoping for Kessel as 3:00 rolled around...but I didn't want MB to instantly make Toronto a better team, either. And there's always Kessel's attitude. But he's an elite sniper and playmaker...no question. Surrounded by better linemates, he'd have made things happen in Montreal.
MT now has his team the rest of the way....bench management will be key.

Another game I can't watch. Needless to say, I'm disagreeing with a Therrien decision. I wouldn't be inclined to play a guy moments after he arrives and doesn't even know everyone's name mich less a system. I kniw it takes little time to pick up a system but it seems rushing Petry. It may turn out ok, I just wouldn't do it unless short handed and absolutely needed them.

I feel the same way, however irrational that may have been. Deep down I worry this team's offensive creativity isn't diverse enough to counter it's size. If tonight isn't a display of a size mismatch, I don't know what is.

Wouldn't be surprised to see an 0-fer-California.
Sharks and Kings are desperate...and Anaheim is top-notch.

We were outhit 17-3 in the first period.
63-37 puck possession for the Sharks.

The Sharks are coming through the neutral zone with all kinds of space and therefore speed.

Should be 5-0.
Price has made at least 3 big saves this period.
The last one was a sure goal. Out comes the trapper.

Shots are 20-8.
We have none so far this period.
Price has stopped two deflections in close.
We're losing every single battle
And there's 3-0.
Game over.
Good night.
MT should've called a time-out before this.

Sharks were way overdue for a big home win....and we were due to get spanked.
It's been Price holding us in most of the time....and the boys now think they can get away with it. Better to get the wake-up call now.
Perhaps the boys are feeling relieved that the deadline is over....but they haven't shown up.
Next Sharks' goal...I'd pull Price.

This is brutal to watch. Feel bad for Price, as he is the only one who came to play. Still think we should of traded for offense instead of for Petry.

So deadline passes and still no one can clear the front of the net when needed. And only Patches can direct pucks at the opposition net

The Sharks are not nearly what they once were. They're on the downslope which explains our effort level.

This reminds me of the Rangers' series last playoffs.
The Sharks are simply outworking, outskating, outhitting us....and not letting up.
The Habs got caught depending upon the same old formula....let Price take care of business while they capitalize on a few chances.
Ain't happenin' tonight.

No one was parting with their big scoring forward. I'm sure MB would have considered it.

We didn't need a big scoring forward ... I'm sure most of us and MB didn't want to sacrifice the pieces it would have took to get a big fish. But we had the pieces to get a decent return. And this has been ongoing all year, it didn't need to be correctly on the last day at the inflated prices

No one was parting with their big scoring forward. I'm sure MB would have considered it. I agree. Bergevin wouldn't have turned down a reasonable opportunity. Therefore, IMO, all asking prices for such a player were unreasonable.
