We didn't need a big scoring forward ... I'm sure most of us and MB didn't want to sacrifice the pieces it would have took to get a big fish. But we had the pieces to get a decent return. And this has been ongoing all year, it didn't need to be correctly on the last day at the inflated prices If not a big scoring forward...then who are you talking about? As far as those types of players are concerned....the prices are always inflated.

Wonder what it's gonna take to get a PP in this one.
I've seen cause for interference on the Sharks a couple of times this period.

We needed someone to replace Eller, Prust, Weise from being on the top lines.
You yourself have said that have Gallagher and DD on the same line isn't how you'd like to enter the playoffs. Everyone talks like it HAD to be done today. MB knows the problem we've had all year and he chose to ignore it. Sure today it was expensive (unless you think Stewart could be a second liner). But it's not my job to find the available players, ...., people rave about MB pulling trades out of his magical cap, well today he didn't. We are no better today than we were yesterday. We might be grittier, I'm not even sure about that yet ... I haven't seen it from DSP yet. But grit isn't increasing those goals if Carey lets in 3

I'd put Eller on the wing with Pleks and Galchenyuk for the third.
We need a goal to get things going.
PAP can't be in comeback game-shape.
So easy for us sit here and suggest moves, ain't it? That's why they call it an easy chair.

But we always have Galchenyuk to move to the top line. Drop Gallagher to the second line. Pacioretty set up Galchy for his hat-trick vs. Carolina earlier in the year. I don't know why they didn't stay together. Sorry, I thought you had a few players in mind.

Oh I agree CH, which is why I try to refrain from putting names to ideas .... People will only shoot the name down.
We needed some grit ... Did we get it? And why three similar players?
We needed scoring. We didn't get that.
Did we really need Petry more than scoring?
No one really improved their teams today, but we still aren't scaring teams with our offense. Run Price , hit us, and we will struggle to score ... It's the same story

My third period Top 6 suggestion.
Galchenyuk - DD - Pacioretty
Gallagher - Pleks - Eller

But the prices for key pieces like that were likely prohibitive. So MB did the next best thing...and shored up the depth. Only one game....we'll see.

It's been 63 games of relying on Price and not scoring. We are one of the lowest scoring teams entering the playoffs.

If we move Agal up ... We still are handcuffed with Eller, PAP, or Weise on the second line wing .... What's wrong with showing some confidence in/patience with Eller? How we needed a #1 C like Vincent Damphousse or Bobby Smith. Too bad AGal wasn't groomed at centre upon arrival. Maybe, as he gains experience, he'll be open to giving it another shot.

]Not one game .... It's been 63 games of relying on Price and not scoring. We are one of the lowest scoring teams entering the playoffs. True enough...ha! I just meant one game after the deadline. Yet, we scored 14 goals in previous 3 games. Go figure. The other two acquisitions aren't even in the lineup yet. They might provide some scoresheet support.

Oh I would love for them to show confidence in him, but they won't. Exhibit A is tonight. But Eller is a Center, and everyone says his play on the wing is dramatically worse than when he is at Center. Not sure the playoffs should be his grooming ground.

If they had their camera placed directly over the crossbar I think it would have been a goal. The nhl should do something about that. And up the resolution for crying out loud.
