Spanked. The guys weren't ready to go. Even Price. That first goal Pleks doesn't clear, Price talking to the ref, and it's in. It took til halfway through the game for the guys to really play. Petry with some good, some bad.

They were awful! Felt bad for Carey. No goalie deserves that poor support.
Hard to judge anyone on that game but DSP I find to be useless with hands of stone. Not even sure he's good enough for our 4th line. Wonder if we could trade him to get Moen back - ouch.
Petry looks like Gilbert-lite out there. He's listed as 174lbs.
As usual, only Hab who came to play was BGal! Love that guy.

Should also say Rosey played well. Man I love this guy's speed, size, and smarts! And he's only 19!

Too many played like headlight-dazed deer for the first half or more of the game.
Can't give up a 3-spot and expect to win. And it should've been 6-0 by the time we finally woke up.
I'll try to not be too tough on that one...as there might've been a lot of relief after deadline day. That, and the fact that San Jose is fighting for a wild card. And perhaps they were saying thanks to Doug Wilson for not giving up on them, despite their poor play in February.
Anaheim and the Kings back-to-back....they'll annihilate us if we come out like that.

At 6'3" Petry would still look lanky at 198 assuming he's in shape.

Wonder if we could trade him to get Moen back - ouch DSP laid out Dillon with a huge hit when we had nothing else going on and damn near had a goal on a nice tip. He was the least of our problems. Too many guys playing with no jump and no real desire to be hard on the puck. They can do it, it doesn't come naturally for them, so they forget sometimes. This is why MT insists they grit and grind. Cause when they just want to go for a skate it's frigging awful.

Hockey db has him at 196.
Amazing how this team can take you from full confidence to dejection within one game. The lack of consistency is disturbing. In their defence, they started the game at 10 pm EST, which may have been difficult to adjust. Hockey players are creatures of habit, as evidenced by our crappy showing in noon games on some days. We adjust much worse than our opponents for some reason.

Watching this game gave me flashbacks of a Gainey/Gauthier-era California trip.
Still shivering in a corner.

Just heard that we haven't won in San Jose since 1999.
No wonder I'm having flashbacks….

Sharks not in a playoff position. Result: Habs loss.
Ducks in a playoff position. Anticipated result: win.

I only watched the 1st but I am prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. They played in Montreal on Saturday night & crossed several time zones.
Also, I'm surprised Petry played without getting in at least one practice.

Considering he got a call at 7am to tell him of the trade, he left Edmonton at 10, his flight took longer than anticipated (about 6 hours), was with a new team, linemates and system, he did alright.

Senators had a game against the Ducks at 10pm EST and won 3-0. the next night beat the Kings 1-0. 2 days later beat the Sharks 4-2. their run of good luck winning streak began with a W against the Habs.

I'm just making excuses for them, Franko. Oh wait, we're not supposed to have excuses. And we've gotten more than one team off to a winning streak. We seem to have that ability.

It was a bad game all around. We've had only a handfull of these games this year. Not worried. This team has been able to bounce back all season long. It's funny how some arena's bring the worst in the team. Our last goal vs the Sharks, Cole from Cammaleri and Desharnais.
Sharks played desperate, Habs went for a skate.

We seem to have that ability. fact is we either win or we stink out the joint. more wining than stinking this year. knew we had to lose eventually; better out west than against the Leafs/Bruins. hate losing against the Sens. I'm okay with the occasional loss now, but once April comes . . .

There is great comfort as well in our 11 6 0 and 1 against the teams we've played that were in the top 10. Why we seem to stink against bad opponents is a little mind boggling but those teams won't be around when it matters most ...

I have my fingers crossed that the Habs will play bwtter against Anaheim. If the trades were supposed to make the Habs better I'd like to see it.
