Great memories, Dis!
The Kings are 3 pts. out of a wild card.
We're on the second of a back-to-back…and 3rd game in 4 nights.
Not expecting anything special from the boys tonight. But they've surprised before.
Wonder if Price gets the start.

Even "Red Light" had a winning record with that team in front of him.
Every gut feeling says another loss tonight. The Kings just want to get in...and then they can do damage like last year. They need these points more than we do, and they are the type of team that we just seem to struggle with (although we also suck against bottom feeders too).

Chucky should be motivated to score. He sits at 19 goals and his 20th will trigger a performance bonus (I read that it was $212K).

But they've surprised before. Wonder if Price gets the start. I'm thinking it will be Toker tonight. Rest Price and make sure he is good to go for the Yotes to at least ensure 2 points out of this trip. Vancouver is in Phoenix tonight and the media is referring to it as "Guaranteed Win Night" after the Yotes' talent dump this past week. How's that for a jinx?

Check out that rock star pose by Gilbert Dionne. The guy had a good season in 93 than just fell of the NHL map after the trade to Philly. EDIT: I remember that SI cover well & great team picture Dis. Lot of scoring at centre and left wing + four D men in double figures.

G.Dionne was decent for us I believe he had a bad concussion which started the decline before we traded him or did we just let him go can't remember?
Anyways not holding much out for the boys tonight ....still believe a lesson is coming their way come playoff time but we have the goaler and if Chucky can step up (if only MTHEAD would play the crap out of him)then maybe we can find some playoff magic.
Once #27 puts on real man weight he's going to be the player we need to compliment Patches....hoping the team makes him play C but if not we need another to see this thing through. Hate for this core to be the next San Jose good but not good enough.

I remember Gretzky after the game saying he wasn't sure what he wanted to do ... keep playing or retire ... I really thought he and the media soaked it and all it did was take away from the Montreal Cup victory (a bit) ... I also have it on VHS somewhere but Michael Lansberg initially reported "zero shots on net by the Kings in the 3rd" ... I rewound the tape and watched the 3rd and the Kings did have some shots ... Mrs Dis also had to tell me to tone it down at one point ... ah, the days ...
Cheers.

We had 3 goons on that Stanley cup team!! As per hockeydb. Ewen played 1 playoff game. Roberge played 3. Who was the other? Odelein? He played all 20...but he was a core member of the D.

Jkr you remember the pick....Dr Recchi was a pretty good player for us but Leclair was a classic case of a guy who just needed icetime....and a bigger role.
I'm on record of not being an MT fan but I am worried he is a talent killer to some extent.....and with this teams window opening hate too see it go down the San Jose path.

That also took away from the Habs' win. Leafs' fans around here also said that Montreal needed a chintzy illegal stick call to get back in the series. I understand fan bias. Ha! I really wasn't paying attention to how the HNIC crew was covering the series in terms of bias. Gretzky love fest? I know Bob Cole and Harry Neale did a fair job of the play-by-play. I'm talking about MacLean, Cherry, et al.

And Gaborik is allowed to stand in the crease with his skate against Toker's pad....preventing any kind of movement.
Whatever.
Another long night ahead.
Gilbert either has to tie up Gaborik's stick....or be in his face.
Instead, he turned his back on him and allowed Gaborik to push him away.

Tokarski spinning in his net all the time inspires very little confidence.

DD is knocked down and held down along the boards....then Weise is held onto.
NO calls.
Then the Kings go down and score.
Good job, refs.
2-0.

Eight minutes in, we don't have a shot on goal yet and we're down 2-0.
