If the Habs want to play with the big boys, they have to start laying on the body and making Quick's life miserable.

Bad call, bad play by DD. In a big hole.

In these games against the big boys, Eller looks so much better than he does at other times. DD, not so much.
Someone has to tell Eller to take his time. He makes a good play and then rushes his next action, instead of letting the game come to him and reacting to what's happening around him. He's strong enough to hold onto the puck and let that happen. Instead he makes a good play and then forces the next. He came around the net, held of the checker and then forced a pass/shot toward the net. The dman, in a desperate action, slid and blocked it with his leg, but if Eller had held onto it, the guys slides by and then he has more space. Just take a little more time, Lars.

For all this talk about the big bad west, they sure get away with a lot of hooking, holding and interference.

California has really exposed our lack of strength down the middle.
DD....body does not match the size of his heart.
Pleks avoids this kind of game like the plague.
No wonder we can't get anything going offensively.
Meanwhile....Carter and Kopitar thrive on this stuff. Because they're big enough to handle it. Not to mention the skill.

2 minutes for hitting too hard.
We get held to a different standard.

My goodness. That's a terrible call. And we can't afford anymore mistakes.

Tim Peel?
Prust for interference.
Refs have missed at least 3 interference calls on the Kings so far.
We're not the better team....but a level ice surface would be nice.
Kings are fighting for their playoff lives.....game management in full swing.
But we have sucked on this trip. MT can say we played a great game last night all he wants.
0 goals. (I don't count a meaningless last minute goal in a 3-0 game.)

The sad thing about this game is that it looks like the Habs are legitimately trying out there.

How are we playing tonight, MT?

Mt has gilbert and weaver on d? He could have put Weaver in against the Yotes and given markov a game off

The sad thing about this game is that it looks like the Habs are legitimately trying out there. I've never liked our zone clearance system and our PP speaks for itself. Improvement in those areas don't require different personnel. Let's get better in those two places and we'll look a lot better than we do now.

The sad thing about this game is that it looks like the Habs are legitimately trying out there. Playing these past three games is pretty indicative of how weak the team actually is when playing real opponents. It's not just the West - the Rangers D looks pretty formidable right now, Tampa looks good too, and the even the Sens might be licking their chops at the thought of playing us.

Mt has gilbert and weaver on d? He could have put Weaver in against the Yotes and given markov a game off I like Weaver and I'd have played him a lot more than he has to date. So I don't mind seeing him out there. Smallish, but strong and a ton of heart. He doesn't hurt us.

It's sad how often DEsharnais loses the puck. He just has to go one on one with just about any King and it's gone.

What's MT saving the timeout for? Not like we need it when we're down by 4 in the third.

A few years ago I suggested a Carter/Plekanec trade when Columbus was itching to get rid of him. Too bad that never came to fruition.

On the bright side, it's the first period and we often suck in the first. Let's just not get down too far.
Two shots on goal. Do you guys think we're really this bad?

This is what we look like with Price in the net, too.
He just usually keeps us in it.
When he doesn't....we lose like we did to San Jose and Anaheim...

It's just that they look downright awful 7 periods in a row now. Against tougher opponents. It's hard reconcile if it's our ineptitude or their fortitude.

Mt won't do it but the top line needs someone else at centre. I'd try eller. Nothing to lose. Won't happen though.
Edit even Flynn at least he had 70 % last night i think
