Price was zoned ... Eller with a strong effort ... would like to see Bournival back with the club but the roster looks committed ...
Cheers.

Max with another shorty. +39 on the season. 60 points in 69 games. 34 goals. On pace for (not gonna say it). Four points out of top ten in league scoring. Nice to see Eller get going a little. PAP too. Success down the stretch, and into the playoffs will hinge on them improving.

In addition to Eller and DLR, I was quite impressed with PAP. Gave our offense some much needed depth.

Still relied on #31 to win. Although reffing in 3rd was atrocious. Should have been 4 minutes on Boychucker as well as a number of other non calls on NYI.
The shift ending in Markov's penalty was awful. Had numerous easy chances to get it out of zone and failed.
PP looked a bit better tonight. Thought Beau played well with his minutes. Petry is very strong.

I don't really know what to make of this game. I thought we were outplayed yet again, but our guys did work hard though. I'm often left wondering, is this really our gameplan? I was watching the Islanders broadcast and they quoted someone (I think the NYI coach) as saying the Habs beat you by thousands of tiny papercuts, in the sense that they don't dominate the opponent in any one way, they just slowly take the game over. I get the analogy, but I'm still left wondering who the Habs really are.
Anyway, might as well enjoy the win. Eller was great, I thought as was the Plekanec line. I think the only reason why Plekanec scored the first goal is because Galchenyuk elected not to dump in the puck, as he was probably supposed to do in that situation. So props to them for doing something useful with their skills.
Did anyone catch Price posing for a young Hab fan's selfie? What a pro. Patches definitely owes him a meal for that giveaway late in the game.

Missed the third, but checked the highlights. It seemed like in every clip, the Islanders were on a powerplay. Poor disicpline, or game management?

Missed the third, but checked the highlights. It seemed like in every clip, the Islanders were on a powerplay. Poor disicpline, or game management? This game i'd have to say poor discipline. Weisse with 2 needless penalties on cheap hits. Markov's near the end leading to Carey losing his SO was a good call but we put ourselves in that position by our inability to clear the zone on a number of easy opportunities on that shift. The game management aspect came in on the refs refusal to call it both ways. they missed/let go a few infractions on NYI. I haven't checked the stats but it seems to me that the last 7 games or so we have been on the PK way more than the PP. That suggests to me we are chasing the game, being careless, not working hard enough. also are we not the most penalized team in the league? I don't get that. As it's not as if we're a dirty team so are we chasing the game, being careless, not working hard enough?

With last night's win, Price matched his career high (38) from 2010-11.
