Thread title for Bolland specifically.
The guys didn't have much left in the third. Toker was huge.

Nice to see them score a few goals for a change.
I was ready to shoot Galchenyuk after that penalty. Possibly the dumbest penalty I've seen all year. We were on the ropes in the 3rd and we get a PP that should have allowed us to ice the game and Alex takes a bad penalty. Gotta think about the situation Alex! We ended up with the win so it's all good but I would be all over him for that as a coach.

BH, I've noticed a trend where we seem to be taking penalties late in the game. Need to be much more focused in the last 10 minutes!

I thought it was one of those calls we don't get cause we're divers. Slight bump, drop like shot.
Even though the guys were tired, that was some horrible play in our end. When you rely on stick checks defensively it kind of goes to hell when your legs start burning.
Good to see some points from the bottom six.

Speaking of which, I thought Larry had a very strong game. But man Rosey is impressive. He does so many little thing right and he's so big and fast. Can't believe he's a teenager. I love this guy. And holy Tokarski. Don't think we can go far with Emeilin and Gilbert in the top 6. We gotta get Beau and Gonchar back. And please give Markov a rest. If he did not play the next game he would get 5 days off. He looks tired and what do we get out of playing him to death. A tired if not injured player for the playoffs. I really hope we're not chasing the Presidents Cup!

Tokarski was solid, which is nice to see. He's looked really shakey of late, so it was good to see him rebound like that. Definitely won it for us in the third.
As good as Petry was in Tampa, I thought he struggled last night. As did Subban and Markov, who both looked gassed at times. And Subban looked like he had a problem with his skate, because he must have fallen down like three times without anybody near him. Almost cost a goal or two. Paetryn continues to be solid, very solid, and Emelin was much more contained within himself last night, in my opinion. Which contributed to him having a much simpler, easier game. Gilbert was Gilbert.
I don't know what to make of Smith-Pelly. At times he looks terrible out there, and really, really slow. But he's clearly very strong on his skates, and there were enough reports of him dominating at times during the playoffs last year that you don't want to give up on him just yet. I can see how his game would translate well in the playoffs, where space is much tighter and the hits much harder, but yeah, so far not too impressive.
Eller, De la Rose and Prust were the best forwards last night, in my opinion, with a nod to Eller as well. The rest were pretty meh. But man, hard to believe De La Rose is only 19 eh?

Tokarski's 1st win in exactly 2 months - he and the team really needed that. Don't know what to make of Smith-Pelly. I thought he got screwed on that penalty call BTW. Against Arizona I thought he had a really strong game but he seemed invisible for a while in the following contests. He got singled out for praise after the game by Gord Stellick FWIW. Stellick felt he did the little things well, blocked some shots, kept the puck deep on the forecheck etc. Still would be nice to see some points though. This is looking like a funny kind of deal right now because Sekac is doing very little in Anaheim too.

Bolland's a douche. In the final seconds all he was doing was punching someone in the head. What a dumb signing - 5.5 over 4 years for this guy??
Just saw that the Habs are now second in the Jennings race to Chicago & New York. Not a big deal but they haven't won it since the days of Patrick Roy (1992 was the last time).

It wasn't too long ago that Beau had all the mojo in the world. I hope he gets back into the lineup and gets the opportunity to play with Petry. Gilbert had a good stretch of games when we first acquired Petry, but I think that good run has officially faded.
I'm happy for Tokarski that he had a great game last night, but I'm also kinda mad at him for bailing out the team. We didn't deserve to win last night imo. It just seems like there's so many things that the team needs to work on before the playoffs come. For a defensive team, we give up WAY too many shots. It reminds me a little bit too much of the Laffs before they started plummeting. I wouldn't be opposed to letting Tokarski start almost half of the remaining games. We'll need a fresh Price in the playoffs and the team needs to learn how to win without relying on goaltending.

It's a known fact DSP came to the Habs out of shape... we'll see what happens next training camp... I assume he will come into camp in shape. He is from the Toronto area I think, perhaps he could work with the group PK works with in the summer. DLR could be a 2nd line centre for this team, he's got the smarts, vision and speed. He's only 19 and if used properly could get there. I can see aGal, DLR and Eller as our 1-2-3... Eller and DLR can be swapped

Since that time, Eller has gotten better and better I'm hoping he told him not to listen to the rumours and that there is no way he's getting traded. With Pleks and DD as our top 2 it would be nuts. I don't think there was any truth to the rumours anyways. Didn't MB come out and say there was players who get you to the playoffs and players who help you win during them? Seems like a tailor made quote for Lars.

Didn't see the game, but that regulation loss pretty much takes Florida out of it. They became a longshot after Luongo and Montoya got hurt against the Leafs.
Now 7 pts. behind the Bruins with only 12 games left for both teams. Ottawa wins again....and the Bruins pickup only 1 pt. at home to the Sabres. You just never know.....the Sens are only 4 back with a game in hand.
But I would think that's why our goaltending had to come up big. The Panthers were no doubt playing desperate hockey. Gallant has a good bunch there.

I thought we were carrying the play at one point but that didn't last long ... do we have a future Guy Carbonneau in DLR? ... tweeted John Lu on Greg Pateryn last night ... really happy to see him make a go of it ... very steady defenseman ... Prust seemed to have all sorts of open ice last night ... got a couple of assists, too ... Cheers.

It's the one area in which I at least, still have a question mark. Defensively, he's probably top 10% in the NHL. That tells you something about his hockey IQ. Last nights goal is an example where my question mark became lighter, but not erased. It was a really nice goal and I'm glad to see that he one times passes instead of cradling and then shooting. So what am I complaining about? The shot just cleared the pad. If the shot had hit the top of the net, I'd be ecstatic. Yeah, I'm picky, but it matters to me. Otherwise he's becoming a player headed for the top end of expectations and maybe higher. Second Rounder. You can waste a few of those and then hit the lottery the odd time. Hoping DLR is our second recent Lottery choice.
