I love these cards.
It won't happen, but I would consider playing Tokarski again. Price played on Monday, and while Monday to Thursday is a little break, it's not THAT big a break. Only two nights off, and there was travel involved too. Let Tokarski play against the weak Hurricanes, and then come back with a much more rested Price on Saturday. Heck, with a little foresight I would have called up Condon or MacDonald for last night's game, and told Price to take the rest of the week off in Miami, to come back home on Friday. For that matter I would have told Plekanec, Pacioretty, Markov and Subban the same thing after last night's game, and maybe even Petry, just to grease the "this is a great organization you should consider staying here in the summer" wheels. Sure, you risk throwing this game away, but so what? Time to start healing up and resting some guys, in my opinion, and what better way to do that than a week of fun in the sun in Florida?

I really wish I could find it but, I remember the Habs doing this in the mid-80's with some of their players ... IIRC, the organization sent Larry Robinson and a couple of other veterans south to catch some rays before the playoffs started ... we didn't win a Cup that year but it was around the time when we weren't given a chance against Boston, only the guys were blocking absolutely everything thrown at Steve Penney ... if I find it I'll post it ... Cheers.

Subban Nathan Beaulieu-Tom Gilbert Alexei Emelin-Greg Pateryn Petry is out with the flu. All due respect to deadline pickups Mitchell and Flynn, I think that is probably the playoff lineup with Petry replacing Pateryn on the right side. We need offense so I would try and get the absolute most out of a guy like PA Parenteau. Putting him on a line with DD and Galchenyuk is a good idea, although that trio is a little suspect defensively. Like the 3rd line in theory. Not a lot of finish and I'm still waiting to see what exactly Smith-Pelly brings to the table but that's a line, with Eller in the middle, that should be able to drive possession and handle tougher opponents. Other than getting some rest for Markov and maybe Price, the goal should be to establish and stick with line combinations, keep good chemistry, and be playing really good hockey going into the playoffs. I'm convinced our playoff success last year was in large part due to the fact that we went 11-3-2 in our last 15 games. I'm less concerned about staying ahead of Tampa and more concerned with finding a groove heading in to the playoffs.

Looks like Beau spit in Petry's water bottle. Wish he had kissed Gilbert instead.

It's been a great year but nothing is easy for this team and I'm not sure it matters what position they finish in given how hard they have to work.

Another point for Manny! I don't think Price will catch him now.
That line took a lot of abuse on that goal. Murphy got away with a couple of cross checks from behind. Perfect result.

Looks like Beau spit in Petry's water bottle. Wish he had kissed Gilbert instead. It seems like its going through the line-up. Weren't a couple of other guys sick at different times in the last week?

I thought it was two guys not seeing each other, having a collision. Big deal. Refs had to get involved.

Good period although i thought we let them come at us once up 2-0. Should just keep skating.
Good to have 4 lines going. Like watching each of them play. All very different.

The second line is having some difficulty, it appears. I wasn't sure if it was because of a line change, but for a brief period I thought I saw DLR out with Galch and PaP. Probably during a line change.
Beaulieu is looking confident again. Good to see.
I'm sure not impressed with Eric Staal though. I hope that continues the rest of this game.

Malhotra is feeling goal fever, I think. He tried that top corner shot coming in off the RW.

The refs don't seem concerned about players holding sticks. That's the second fairly blatant one they've let go. Fair enough, just let it go for us as well.

Nice sequence by Eller, knocking that flip pass down, then spinning and hitting Spelley right on the blade for a good shot on goal (which was unfortunately stopped).

nice backcheck by PA (or was it AGall?); nicer save by Price Both were coming back hard, which is good. We'll let the antics that led to that break go for now. Bad bounce on the pass back to Beaulieu, but there was a lot of control with little threat.

Therrien making adjustments. Weise out there with Eller and DLR and immediately there's a good scoring chance. Quick hands by DLR, but Khudobin makes a good pad save.
