If I were him, I'd be so tempted to make my next goal celebration a dive.

Maybe it's time for Bergevin to make a quiet call to the league & find out WTF is going on. Didn't see much in that video. Selective punishment IMO.

Yea, PK dives. I don't like it, but I 100% do not blame him for trying to sell the calls. The refs just don't give him any benefit out there.
A little off topic, but that looked like a bad offside call to me in the video link!

I had no idea the NHL could make a note of uncalled dives, review later, and administer fines.
I thought Rule 64 was restricted to an accumulation of embellishment calls made by the refs.
But…there's Rule 64.3. Have any other players been fined in review?
64.3 Fines and Suspensions - Regardless if a minor penalty for diving / embellishment is called, Hockey Operations will review game videos and assess fines to players who dive or embellish a fall or a reaction, or who feign injury

The same league that has referees tell B. Gally that he won't call a penalty in his favour....pretty laughable....ever since Don Cherrys rant and D Pang's so called slip of the tongue PK has been a marked man and it hasn't got much a better his Norris's Trophy aside.

Does anyone know if there is an email address for the nhl. I think habs fans should send an email to the league whenever a player on another team does what PK was fined for and make sure you reference rule 64.3.
The funny thing is i went to the nhl site looking for an email address and clicked on On Ice Officials and it shows officials from the 2011-2012 season.... what a joke.

PK dove? did he get any fish? Otherwise it doesn't count.....
This is where a beat writer with the Habs can create nasty blowback to the NHL about racism. If I was MB (and I'm not saying that I don't have telepathic communications every day and control his mind), I would turn it on the NHL so fast that it would make tiny little heads spin.

The nhl promotes PK on their site (he's on their home page right now) but treat him differently than other star D men. Willie O'Ree my ass.

LOL. Stamkos had a few doozies not long ago, but I guess he's a good (white?) Canadian boy, so he can't possibly dive.

Oh cr@p, I got a few doozies but they are race related and I'm going to refrain....
I honestly don't think it's about skin colour as much as it is about attitude that some may attributed to skin colour. We are dancing close to the twilight zone with this because it's so hard to determine intent.
What I do know is that the Habs need to take advantage of EVERY situation and this might be one where having an evil mind "may" pay a small dividend.

Attitude, which attributes to having a personality. Mike Richards called PK out for being too "cocky" a few years back and not having "any respect." All this because Subban wouldn't take any of Richard's BS. If I'm management, I sit PK down and tell him not to change anything. If the Habs brass wanted to, they can pull videos together of players who embellished and send that to the league at the end of the season for plays that they "missed." To be honest, I think Plekanec and/or Emelin is far more guilty of this, yet they single out the guy who has a Norris trophy. "That'll learn him."
Interestingly enough, Brad Marchand is not one of the players who received a fine this year.

If anyone should be fined for embellishing, it should be Don Cherry... but I digress.

I said way back when PK first embellished (and it was a valid call) that he will be looking at multiple fines this year (this is his second fine). Just because your first call is a freebie, doesn't mean you take advantage that early in the season. Now any questionable looking fall will cost him ....

Under the NHL rules, your first dive is a warning, your second will cost you $2000, your third will cost you $3000, fourth will cost you $4000 and your coach $2000 , your fifth will cost you $5000 and your coach $3000 ... And so on. I said Brad Marchand was fined, because he was the first player this year to be called for embellishment twice. But I can't find evidence he was fined. There is another player with two embellishments who wasn't fined as well - Evgeni Malkin. Every other player with more than one dive was fined .... Wtf???

Vincent Trochek on Florida. Three guys were fined after their first embellishment penalty .... James Neal, Gustav Nyqvist, and Vincent Trochek. Each got $2000, and Trocheck wasn't even penalized.

Michael Farber's excellent piece on diving: www.tsn.ca/video/for-shame-1.230441Apparently there is a nine member committee that decides on who is or isn't diving. I'll give you three guesses as to who leads that committee, and by his own admission casts the deciding vote. First two guesses don't count. Yeah, Colin Campbell leads the committee. 'Nuff said.

I wonder how many Bruins Mr. Campbell has had to review.
Cheers.

I think I read somewhere that Marchand had his diving calls reviewed and removed from his record. I'm sure it was after a thorough investigation.

It begins with Bettman and ends with Campbell, fortunately these two buffoons will not be able to heist another Stanley for the Bruins this season. It is no laughing matter, but at the same time the bias shown is a sad indictment on the honesty of the league. How utterly convenient that his happened during a Bruins tv show, Mr. Sinden must be enjoying every minute of his riches.
