What's going on with PIttsburgh. They're down 4-1 to Carolina. Yeesh. Playing Possum? Ottawa getting shelled by the Rags 4-1. The Hamburglar has been caught and sentenced. Rangers 4-1 up on Ottawa. Leafs on their way to 7 losses in a row - down 2-0 already to FLA.

I have no idea why they pass to DD on the PP ... He isn't going yo shoot. They can leave him wide open, and then drop down when he gets it. And that's pretty much what they do. He is waiting way to long for the cross crease pass and then bails and passes back yo the point

Did Buf kick Gallagher there?
And yes, Skilly, it's entirely predictable.

Habs shortening bench? I haven't seen either Eller's line or Mitchell's line out much. PP no doubt has something to do with that.

A proper PP coach would be worth his weight in gold for this team.

Pavelec with some luck there. Eller couldn't lift a bouncing puck.
Yep...puck luck not going our way.....yet the Jets have one really good look and it squeaks in.
Can't complain about our effort in that period....other than the powerless play.

shots 20-5 ; down 1-0.
I think it's more a case of quantity vs. quality here though.

Pavalec has had to be very, very good so far. I think we've had 20 shots on goal?! Beaulieu made a terrific play faking a wrist shot and then skating down to set up Eller in front. The pass was in his skates and by the time he got it to his stick, he was leaning forward a lot and couldn't lift the puck up over Pavelec's pad. If we can keep this up, though the puck will go in. More shots, and get someone screening the goalie.

Any finish at all and we're up. Probably one of our better first periods.

I know we all would like Price resting ... But I got to believe he'd like to play. He is chasing history. Just seems to me that the other goalies are playing more down the stretch and can play back to backs

Spelley holds Buff's stick and then someone suckers Adam Pardy into taking a rather dumb unsportsmanlike penalty to even it up. He must have Pardied too much last night.

The sens announced today they don't want fans throwing burgers on the ice. ...its a safety issue. Ottawa the town that fun forgot. Funny how that announcement coincides with the burglar getting pulled.

That's a few times where we haven't been in a position to roof the puck, but that's how you beat Pavelec. He's covering the bottom of the net toally, but the top end is usually open.
