I like Pateryn's game. A lot. Me too. He's much more physical than advertised and he moves the puck well. Good skater, and he played on the Dogs PP, so he must have some offensive skills, though he's not being asked to be other than a good defensive guy right now. Overall, he's been good. Got him in 2008 in the Grabovski deal to the Leafs. Along with a 2nd round pick that we must have traded, since we didn't use a 2nd rounder in that draft.

factoid about the Pateryn/Hayes hit - both guys drafted by the Leafs in 2008. Factoid about the 2008 draft 22 players in that draft have scored 100 points or more .... 11 of them are defensemen

Skilly - what do you think of Strombo's suit tonight?

I truly believe the Leafs are losing on purpose. The coach is laughing in every interview But the NHL is concerned apparently. After Buffalo fans cheering for Arizona, and teams appearing to be tanking on purpose, I read on the TV at Tim Hortons this week that the NHL will be meeting to discuss these issues I watch EDM & Buffalo & it looks like they are trying. I watch Toronto & I see a bunch of slugs (including their #1 line) that don't give a sh!t. IMO Phaneuf looks like he's trying. He hits, he fights, the rest of them don't give a damn. Kessel showed more enthusiasm in the practice than he does in games

Skilly - what do you think of Strombo's suit tonight? I'm no fashionista, but you should not be able to see a man's cuffs and socks when he wears a three piece suit. And you should not need shades to look at a man's suit! Someone hire him a fashion consultant. He is making me beg for those old HNIC powder blues!

Strombo is trying to ride the exec/hipster fence, no? If that's hip, then I got suits from the 90s I'm breaking out of my closet! They come up to my ankles

Pateryn steps up on Kulivov.
If he keeps up that hitting, he'll be a mainstay for the playoffs.

Just imagine if we had Subban, Emelin, Pateryn and Tinordi throwing their weight around like they can

If we could keep Petry and somehow Tinordi makes the club next year, it's a pretty solid corps.

Galley blaming Flynn, when probably Eller should have taken over the line himself as he was ahead of Flynn.

What sort of defensive zone coverage is this? Bolland winds up, the defense backs off! Good thing he missed.

We just don't have the personnel to dictate a game, offensively. Either that, or our talent isn't being used to its potential.
And so, we score 2.55 goals a game and hope we give up fewer.
Right on pace tonight.

How did socks in sandals become so not couture? It's darn comfy wearing socks and sandals and in the wintertime, much warmer.

I believe Gainey traded the pick to Chicago for Robert Lang. Worked out well until Lang suffered an achilles injury.

I'm not sure what game I'm watching tonight. I came in late and see players in red hitting.
