Do I ever hope Neil does something stupid.

If there is one guy on the team that can handle the extra attention it's Subban. As noted, he often thrives on it. I don't think going after him is necessarily going to work out to the Senators benefit. Especially not if the powerplay (top ten at home) chips in a couple.
I think the Sens would have been better served going after Plekanec (as they did in that scrum). Of all the players on the team I think he would be the most susceptible to a little intimidation. And even then I don't know how much, or how effective it would be.
The Bruins have tried to intimidate us for years, with only mixed results at best (and that's with a much better team). Do the Senators really think this is going to work?

Got them right where we want them. Or maybe that's what they want us to think, or maybe it's what we want them to think we think, or....,...
The playoffs are awesome.

Max: Game time decision.....
Therrien was asked: if both out, who plays? he didn't answer.....
I am guessing Max is in....
oh, and Stone is practicing and shooting pucks.....EDIT: then he left the ice after a few minutes.....(no ready ? mental games ?)

I'll feel bad, well sort of, if Stone's not playing. BUT only because if he plays it is going to be fun. He'll be properly booed out of the building for being such a whiner, faker, and baby (see how the child deals with that). And the Sens management will be shown up for the disingenuous game they've been playing for 2 days now. Seems their in a tough position because of their antics: dress him and show up the refs (not to mention all the criticism the league has received for not doing anything as the Sens whined and provided disinformation), don't dress him and you've lost one of your best forwards.
They really are a amateurish organization!

Gotta think before you speak - let your brain catch up to your mouth, otherwise you just keep getting into it deeper and deeper.

"Having a guy like Neil out there kind of helps mediate the cheap shots," said defenseman Marc Methot, referring to Subban's second-period slash on Stone. "He knows his role and he's able to play both ways too. Having him out there will certainly help."

"He knows his role and he's able to play both ways too. Having him out there will certainly help." My guess this quote may come back to haunt him if he ever applies for a hockey job post career. Why? Because nobody in their right mind believes Chris Neil at this stage of his career is going to help in a playoff game.

Expecting intensity, but hoping for a better officiated game. Last game went well out of control.

I'm not sure the officials have any sort of baseline by which to go by. They have been so wildly inconsistent that one wonders what kind of instruction they're given. Some slashes are called, others aren't. A minor tap is called, but blatant interference is let go. The inexperienced refs have been dropped for the playoffs, so these guys should be the best. Yes, there's still almost half of them around, perhaps less if they're doing more than one round, but all things considered, they're still short of where I'd like to see the quality standards. The other night in the Nucks/Flames game, a Flame knocked the puck down with an obvious high stick in the Canucks zone and it wasn't called. Fifteen seconds later, the Flames tied it up. Maybe it wasn't directly related, but if there's a face-off outside the Canucks zone, maybe the Flames have to find another way to win it. You shouldn't have games determined by officiating errors and while you expect it to happen now and then, that frequency right now is too high.

17 reffing is the biggest indictment on this game....not sure the 2 ref system is better but what bothers me most is the bias that comes into play with certain players. I know it exists in all sports but when you know it has been verbally communicated to one of our players it makes you wonder how fair games involving the Habs are being judged. Personal bias aside every game is clearly a crap shoot..... Nobody wants to see a penalty parade but the swings from one extreme to the other is so often confusing and maddening.

Guess the Sens thought better of dressing Neil tonight. Look for him in the lineup Sunday possibly.

Not sure why the guys aren't shooting high on Hammond. I know they got low goals on him Wed, but he stops a lot of stuff along the ice. Roof it folks!
