Well executed goal by Ottawa. They are forechecking us and that's where the chip and chase is a weak system.
Markov got caught up on the goal but where was the backcheck?

Patches doesn't look comfortable at all. That line, so far, has generated little and was on for the goal against.

Not a great start. Let's hope they can regroup for the second period.

Galchenyuk, the play was dead, why do that? Stupid. I know it's only 4 periods but he's shown almost nothing. He's back on the wing where he supposedly wants to be, time to step up.

We've scored 4 goals a game without him, you don't want to risk anything with his health, the rest of the team is picking up the slack and there was no need to play him unless he really was feeling 100% which I very much doubt is the case. Instead, by playing him, the other players defer to him on the attack and he's not ready to pick up that attention yet. I think that's one reason we've been scoring more. We're not looking for Max, we're looking for the best attacking option, and finding it.

PLEASE - There is no evidence he wanted to be back on the wing. He accepted the return to wing for the 'good of the team'. There is no evidence other than the word of one man that he asked for the change. It has to be made clear that he did not initiate the return to left wing. I'd prefer him at centre as well, but that doesn't account for his unproductive play.

DSP made a good pass to DD, and DD makes the same move to the corner instead of shooting or cutting to the middle ....

You know it's playoff hockey when Plekanec throws two checks in 10 seconds

I should have complained about Pacioretty earlier. Hopefully, that will loosen him up.

Two good looking powerplays. Puck retrieval and good movement.

God I love this. Shots 8-2 in our favour. Habs starting to carry the play, a chance to take start taking this game over.
