Very entertaining game. PP is still a cause for concern. Our best players needed to be our best players and were. Pacioretty, Subban, and Galchenyuk with the goals.
And yes, Price needs to stop trying to be cute with the puck. His passes and shots miss constantly.

PP finish is a concern, but they did generate chances. I did think not taking advantage was going to come back to haunt. Thankfully it didn't.
Chapeau to DSP. He's playing a big body game. Leaning on guys at every chance and he generated scoring chances tonight.
DD was much better tonight.
Price needs to stop playing the puck. He had a big part to play in the tying goal, and he flubbed one in the OT.
I was commenting (to myself) tonight that Alex needed to step up. That's his second OT winner, holding to the adage that it's never bad to shoot. I think he and Gallagher are rushing shots. Pressing. Galchenyuk needs to engage more though. Gallagher has at least done that. Kudos to that line, and Plekanec for winning those key OT faceoffs.

That's it, Mattais ... it was a great game to watch ... the NHL was wise to brief each team before the game ... great response from Subban ... good return for Pacioretty ... Eller, DSP, Desharnais all very noticeable tonight ... good team win ... next game is Sunday night ... 2-0 Habs ...
Cheers.

I think we need to complain about some of our guys, earlier, more often and more strenuously. I complained about Max and he scores. Others complained about Galchy and he scores. We've found the silver bullets guys.

Hamburglar was just AHL enough to allow the stinker in OT. But not enough for the Hens to doubt him. Perfect.

AGal is coasting when he should be stopping on pucks, and stopping when he should be breaking. Out of synch. I hope this goal gets him going.
Stick it to them Sunday.

Big guys played a part but love seeing Eller continue to play hard ... There maybe a another level in the coming years maybe not in production but consistency ....also DSP is doing what he was brought here for he'll pot a few eventually but he's creating space. Up 2-0 and they still could up their game.

Subban showing leadership and maturity reminding his team that 3 years ago they were up 2-0 coming home against Boston, and up 3-1 in the third period of game 3 and ended up losing game three and the series 4-3

He (DD) did better as the game went on, but did not get off to a good start. Competed better. Kinda lucky in a way. Patches' goal was not his typical sniper in the top corner. Hammond should have had it, but glad he didn't. Got DD a point and got him some confidence. I wasn't happy with him in the first, but satisfied with his play after that. Galchy could learn a bit from him. You have to play hard in the playoffs. No one is giving anything to you. Take those hits, work harder. Success will follow.

2-0 lead in games is like a 2-0 lead in goals. They've got them down. Time to put the foot on the throat.

HFTO I noticed Dale Weise a lot tonight ... he didn't make any fancy plays, but he was tough on the puck ... good to see us match the Senators physically ... Cheers.

Thought the boys played well. Could have put the game away a number of times when up 2-1 but just missed. Hammy is shaky. Seems to make the saves but his form is terrible which is why he gives up some weak ones.
PK is a monster. As many said; don't get him psyched cause he'll kill you. He played a great game and that goal was one for the ages. BOOM!
Karlsen is a great skater but how can he be considered for the Norris when he doesn't play the pk and can't play D. He plays offensive minutes and pinches and rushes constantly yet only has a few points more than PK and other D who play tough minutes and at critical defensive moments. Karlsen plays like Coffey who won the Norris numerous times but he was a boatload of points ahead of the other dmen of his era. I don't think Karlsen should even be in the conversation.
How do the Sens and Murray look in the mirror after their pathetic antics the last few days. Every media outlet i go to there is some play on "micro-fracture" and the fabricated word by the Sens to make a bruise sound like a season ending injury. And to have Stone not only play but on the PP and PK. He's either an amazing human being who can play through extreme pain and broken bones despite his flopping around on the ice or he's banged up like everyone else playing in a playoff game but likes to exaggerate his condition. I think we know where the consensus is on that and the kid now has a reputation. Speaking of which, do the Sens go down easy at everything and look to the refs always. Shameful.
Not happy with Beau and Gilbert. Would like to see Pateryn in Ott as those are going to be a gong show. Gonchar's experience might be helpful as well.

I don't watch Ottawa a lot but I never thought McArthur was a diver but it must be contagious. Even Kypreos called him out for the 3rd period flop & he tries it again in OT. The quick way to stop that crap is to call it as a single penalty, not as a companion to another call. Can't believe how easily fooled the referees are.
BTW: Watched Flames/Canucks highlights and saw Ferland take a real chop at Burrows at the faceoff circle. Despite his rep, Burrows didn't do a Stone like swan dive.

I hope they keep talking about the Ottawa dives. It's the only way for a team to get that rep. Eventually the refs clue in. Ottawa won't like it if they have to put up with what we did all year. It'll be funny watching them get frustrated.

Couple of posts I saw on a media site regarding PK's goal
Subban deliberately 2 hand slashed that puck into the net. Should he be suspended?
I heard that the puck has a microfracture.
It's just a "steel bar bruise".

This has always been my view. He's not a complete player. He's a rover; a riverboat gambler. He's fast enough that he can often recover from mistakes, he's not good defensively imo.

Perhaps MacArthur sold it, but Emelin had no business getting in his way. The puck was going up ice and it negated a potential scoring opportunity.

Yeah, a bit too obvious IMO. I think if he had just kept skating and bumped slightly, but in the forward direction, not sideways, the refs would have let it go. Most players, though, just do things naturally and the circumstances, timing in the game and score often don't register until its too late. Emelin had a pretty darn good game, though, so perhaps some forgiveness is in order (especially since we won).
