Can't agree. There have been periods in this series when they have controlled the play. The 2nd period of game 1 - 4 goals on 19 shots; game 4 - from the second period through OT they out shot Ottawa 40-22. They are capable of it, just have to do it for 60 minutes. I guess we have a different definition of domination ... Have we won any game by more than a single goal? We won two on the last shot of the game. We've been getting by , by the skin of our teeth. The second period of game 1? Yep, we got 4 goals. But if I recall correctly, Ottawa also scored 2. That's not dominating. There was not a time during this series where I said to myself, we got this. Dominating is when a bad break WON'T cost you the game ... Like say, if you are up 4-0, and a late bad bounce makes it 4-1. NOT when you score 4 goals in the second period and are only up by one, and you are chewing fingernails hoping a bad bounce doesn't happen. Shots? We can fire as many as 1000 shots at Ottawa. If they aren't from dangerous areas does it really matter? All our shots are coming from the perimeter, Ottawas are coming from in close ... I'd rather the latter personally. Case in point. We outshot Ottawa 46-25 last game. Did we dominate? We lost 5-1. We have the least amount of goals of any playoff team. A dominating team should have more than 10 goals in 5 games ... 2 goals a game!!! Are you kidding me?? I guess we do have different definitions. IMO saying they haven't dominated a single shift is exaggeration. Really, not one shift in 5 games?

I hope the second line plays the least minutes or shocks me with the most points, has to be one or the other, either they produce right away or lose minutes to Larry and Torrey's lines. You trying to break up the Desharnais/Therrien partnership? Extremely unlikely to happen.

I admit I exaggerated, ... It's fair to say, they dominated the 10 shifts they scored on. I duuno.
But in the example you used, that 4 goal second period. In 6 seconds after the second goal, they take a penalty and 14 seconds after the second goal "slash-gate" and they are 2 men down. Less than two minutes after the second goal, Ottawa ties it up. Then we score again, about a minute later Ottawa ties it up.
Ok, maybe I should have said , they haven't taken control of a game, haven't had continuous sustained pressure, haven't dominated a game .... Like other teams

Markov's stick bounced off MacArthur's stick....then went up and hit his face.
Completely unintentional play....
That's what I thought I saw on the replay.

That was a good job on the PK. I hope their poise continues the rest of the game.

still waiting to see a one-timer.
d gets the puck and then waits for the Sens to fill the lane before trying for a shot

I saw Eller with Pacioretty for a bit there...and they came a bit close....
I'd go that route, MT!

I'm glad MT suited DLR instead of Flynn and I hope DLR steps up. Max looks a bit faster today.

still waiting to see a one-timer. d gets the puck and then waits for the Sens to fill the lane before trying for a shot Were they waiting for a Hab to get in front of Anderson? I saw Petry (I think), fake a shot and then move slightly to the right and let it go.

How do the Sens get away with all that interference but that gets called? Seriously?

Max won't come out of any fogs until he stops firing it from the circle and starts trying to get to the middle

Who had hold of who in that?
Looked like Mitchell was hanging on, for sure.
Early penalties....
Gotta hold them off.

Don't know if Desharnais tried to elevate that puck and missed or what.

I've said that myself a few times and broken my promise. What I find queer about Max is that he drives to the net more on the PK than he ever does on the PP or ES ....

Max won't come out of any fogs until he stops firing it from the circle and starts trying to get to the middle Pleks just tried to spring him on a breakaway. I didn't see much of that earlier in the series, he didn't seem to have his legs. He's also thrown a couple of hits. Maybe I'm just being optimistic.

Don't know if Desharnais tried to elevate that puck and missed or what. I read on another site (unconfirmed) that DD has one goal, an empty netter, in 32 playoff games. Ouch. I know he's a passer rather than shooter, but we drove Scott Gomez out of town for that kind of production.
