Just because its doom and gloom out there, I'll through out a stat I heard on the radio...The only time the Canadiens have come back in a 7 game series, starting with home ice advantage and losing the first game - was in game 1 in 1993 against the Kings. Hopefully we can duplicate this. In 1993 we also lost the first 2 games to Quebec (in Quebec City) and came back Wiki says we started on the road: April 18 Montreal Canadiens 2–3 OT Quebec Nordiques Quebec Coliseum April 20 Montreal Canadiens 1–4 Quebec Nordiques Quebec Coliseum April 22 Quebec Nordiques 1–2 OT Montreal Canadiens Montreal Forum April 24 Quebec Nordiques 2–3 Montreal Canadiens Montreal Forum April 26 Montreal Canadiens 5–4 OT Quebec Nordiques Quebec Coliseum April 28 Quebec Nordiques 2–6 Montreal Canadiens Montreal Forum

CH, it was before game two started. They were talking about how important it was not to go down 2 games in the series. I don't know how accurate the stat is though.

I guess TB has solved their PP issues now.

Why is Price still in this game? I am not blaming him. Just no point at this time.

Pretty sure Flynn was hooked on the hands there.
He's probably been our best player, sadly.

It's probably accurate. I'll bet we've never come back from losing the first two games at home. I wonder how many times we've left home down 0-2 in a playoff series.

If Pacioretty goes anymore to the outside he'll be heading down Bonaventure street.

Morrow pokes at Price...why isn't that a penalty?

Not impossible, but not if they can't score more than two goals a game while giving up 4 PPG at the same time.

A coach puts his team in a position to win. Demers did that & has a Cup ring. Melrose is just another ESPN analyst.

Prust....
That accomplishes nothing....except show how desperate we are.
I hate resorting to that stuff.

I hope question one to therien is. Tampa 6 goals. Habs 6 goals in 6 games. Thoughts? They scored 4 against Ottawa in game one & 3 in game two (took 4 minutes of OT). Since then they haven't been above 2. Question two should be what the hell happened to the PK?

Being a good sport is like pissing your pants in a dark suit. You get a warm feeling but nobody notices.

So , was DD the problem? No ... The problem is we have ZERO offensive depth. So this habit of picking up defense has to stop. We had Tinordi, Drewiski, Gonchar ...sure Petry has been a good pickup. But I'd prefer a second liner Skilly, Tampa is not winning the Cup, despite all their offense. They got pushed to 7 games and might very well have lost that 7th if not for the Wings missing Zidlicky and Kronwall. They're beating up on us because we have the equivalent of a straightjacket offense. Next series, they're up against either NY or Washington. The Caps have a big, hard skating, well coached team without a popgun PP. While the Rangers are missing Zuccarello, their offense is still better than ours and they too are well coached and well disciplined and they have as good a defense as us. Lundquist is close enough to Price. The Lightning know they just have to keep going to beat us. We can't score and they'll get one at least and then two in OT because we can't get a second unless the game's already out of reach. Then, if somehow they get past either of those two, they face one of three teams that can all score. It really helps when you can give the other guys all the PP's you want, and take all the liberties you want and they can't score. My point is that despite all the offense, Tampa is not well built for the playoffs and won't win it. It's just a matter of which round they're taken out in.
