The only way we get back into this series is if Tampa gets complacent and/or Bishop lets in some questionable goals. I don't see either happening.

Obviously a must-win.
And the winner for understatement of the year goes to...
Take this one, and even if we lose Game 4 we're still in it (albeit in it deep). Down 3-1 going home is still doable. Take the home win, then an upset win on the road in Game 6, and you're coming home for a Game 7 with momentum. Still a very steep hill to climb, but at least the summit is visible. Go down 3-0 and.... well, start preparing your mock drafts.
Be nice to take both games in Tampa of course, but let's just start with the first one and go from there.

Desharnais did not make the road trip.
Must be pretty sick.

Time for some optimism!
We lost the first 2 games to the Rangers at home last year and won Game 3 in NY and took Game 4 to OT.
But it all hinges on Game 3. Win Game 3 and we at least have a shot to square up the series. Lose Game 3 and it's too big a climb.
Is it too late to call up someone from Hamilton? I know their season is over, but we are desparate. I'd give Charlie Hudon some ice!

We sure didn't need the Prust-Watson incident. Watson is just as much to blame, though.
Just heard Kerry Fraser say that once a ref decides to participate in the verbal exchange, it should negate calling an extra 2:00 on the player.
But also that he didn't do himself or his teammates any favours with the officials.
(Even though it's hypocritical on the refs' part….it's still a reality.)

Dis, great job as always on the GDT! Love the pic of a young Subban and Stamkos.
For Game 3, it's time for Les Boys to focus only on hockey and stay away from running Bishop and any other shenanigans after the whistle. For the PP, they should just shoot from everywhere and try to cash in on tips or rebounds.
For proof that it's still possible for them to win the series, the Habs need to look no further than their own recent history to see 3 teams that lost the first two games at home, only to go on to win the series: - 1996 Rangers - 2006 Hurricanes - 2011 Bruins
It's a tall feat but it's doable, so they have to play Wednesday as if it's an elimination game. I think they can do it and I'm still optimistic that they can win the series.

Maybe Hudon can provide some short term spark to the offense to get them over a hump, even for a couple of games. Brian Flynn, despite his career day against Ottawa in game one, is not the answer.

A nine-game losing streak against a team that finishes behind you in the standings at least hints at incompetence in the coaching staff. Jon Cooper must have something that Therrien lacks, and I'm not just referring to the personnel. If I were Bergevin I would be testing the the sharpness of an axe blade.

Running the danger of the Bolts being in Price's head, too.
A case could be made for that this season…perhaps they're already there.
In their 7-game winning streak, they've outscored us 29-11, and Price has played in every game. Don't know if there were any empty netters.

Fell behind 2-0 at home in the Finals & won the next 4. Henri Richard scored the Cup winning goal in controversial fashion. He was taken down and the puck lodged around his armpit. He slid into the net, I believe , like this & the goal was counted.

Desharnais did not make the road trip. Must be pretty sick. Cover up for an injury? I wasn't joking when I said Coburn had his stick between DD's legs and lifted him a foot off the ice. Then Prust complains about Coburn sticking him between the legs and you wonder. Coburn could use some dental work.

I remember watching that game. It's the first series I can actually remember watching, although I know I watched a few in previous years. The Pocket Rocket was my idol at the time. Interestingly, Roger Crozier won the Conn Smyth trophy that year despite playing on the losing team. As an aside, I'm glad Cherry wasn't around as a talking head back then. You can imagine the crap that would be dribbling from his mouth about that goal.

Bishop has seen a lot of shots in the series and this is the most confident I've seen him this season ... Prust is taking most of the negative press off this teammates by taking it on himself .... at the same time, he can't allow the Bolts to get in his head ... there are a lot of little wars we simply don't see unless we're on the ice and Prust has been involved in some of those ... need a lot more from a lot of players ... I haven't given up on them, but they were frustrating to watch the other night ... getting into Bishop's head is the key ... a couple of weak goals and he'll cave ... get back to the regular season standard and we'll see from there ... welcome back ... Cheers.

Lots of damage control and necessary butt-kissing from MT happening today. "I'm old school with those things," Therrien said on a conference call Monday. "I'm a true believer that what's in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room, what's on the ice and comments should stay on the ice. And we'll take care of that internally."
Therrien said he had not heard from the league regarding Prust's comments. Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, Prust can not be suspended.
Prust could, however, be fined. The NHL docked Alexandre Burrows of the Vancouver Canucks US$2,500 in 2010 for detrimental comments about referee Stephane Auger.
Therrien did not seem concerned about Prust's comments having a negative effect on the rest of his team's series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. "We all understand they have a difficult job, it's not always easy for referees," Therrien said. "They try their best. What happened yesterday, it happened yesterday, and my only concern is on our next game."www.tsn.ca/therrien-says-he-ll-talk-to-prust-about-ref-comments-1.275097
