No answer.
The horrendously embarrassing PP continues....and now our PK has lost its energy.
Can't score to save our lives. Both goals tonight came from the defence.
Our leaders are MIA....
Great 4:00 PP kill...but they tied it on the next minor which immediately followed.
We had it all in negative fashion tonight. Even discipline.

Indiscipline. Prust has to be better than that. He keeps trying to go after Bishop, and not once has that paid off. Sit him. PK has to be better than that. Nobody to blame for themselves.

Haven't paid to see an NHL game since the lockout ... glad I didn't pay to see this game tonight ...
Cheers.

Flynn was our best player, by quite a bit.
The EGG line was back together, anyone notice?
The guys lost their mojo once they got down.
Our pp and pk suck, the reffing didn't help. Sure some of those were penalties, but they sure seem to find a way to ignore similar ones the other way.

That was embarrassing. Montreal has pretty much pissed the whole division off. Toronto, Boston, Ottawa and now Tampa wants to kill us.

We don't have enough guys to start wearing down teams physically. So to randomly start picking on guys, nobody's gonna bite. Everybody knows what Prust is up to. He's starting to do what Begin did in his later seasons with us.

Its a no brainer and Dunderhead does not have any. Blaming the refs in the media (offside)for the lost will only get you in trouble. "Pay Back is a Bitch".

Listening to Cooper and his press conference. Makes me like him even more as a coach. Well spoken. You can tell he's a winner.

But when Prust is targeting guys, I'm not sure if everybody else in the room really appreciates it. He may not be around after this season--over which I'd shed no tears. Seriously, if they're going to lose their heads and stop playing hockey, we have a worse team than we thought.

This has the Boston '09 series written all over it. Unless they dig deep, the final two games are going to be blowouts, too.

Not very professional of the ref. Thought they were supposed to let the players vent a bit? It was a soft call.
It's how they view our team I think. Along with the Gallagher, that's a penalty, but not on you crap. It's not hard to see that they come into the game with some preconceived ideas. Bit of a smear campaign from the top I think. It's a way to influence games.
Nobody can tell me that the habs dive more than the teams they've played for the last 50 games or so. They were forced to clean it up. The myth still prevails though. I'd like to see the finger pointed at some other teams.

I'm not blaming the refs at all…..but Dave Jackson, although from Montreal, either goes out of his way to NOT show favouritism…or the Habs players abuse him verbally.
Chris Lee is Chris Lee.
EDIT: Just heard Prust's clip describing what Watson said to him when he came over to the penalty box. I'll add a bit to what was posted earlier.
Called Prust a p-o-s, m'effer, coward, I'd throw you out of this building.... Prust says Watson likes to play "god" and control a game, and that's what he did tonight.
I'm very surprised to hear that refs can get away with that....but they take a lot of abuse.
Prust will be fined.
Much ado about nothing, in terms of turning this series around.

That 4 minute call was horrendous, especially when it came shortly after Garrison punched a forward in the back of the head for a tap on Bishop.
The timing of Prust calling out the ref is wrong, but I can understand him saying it. If a player can't call the ref that, neither should the ref be allowed to call the player that.
I left after the 2-1 goal. Knew what was coming. The power play has completely destroyed them. I don't know if a comeback is possible now, but the Bolts aren't beating them by outplaying them. Montreal was better through that first 4 minute kill. Montreal is beating themselves.
No matter what happens, Bergevin has two major things to accomplish this Summer. He needs to seriously address the power play issues. You simply can't be that bad. If MT won't fire Lacroix then the whole staff has to go. After that, he needs to add goals. Come hell or high water, he needs to find goal scorers. While I believe the power play is zapping confidence from more than just itself, they need more legit scoring. Can't win the cup averaging less than 2 goals a game.
Oh, and scoring first is a jinx.

He penalizes Prust & then cusses him out. Totally bush league. I'm glad Prust called him out. It's about time referees answered for something.

The kind of scoring we need isn't the floater goal suck type though (like Vanek). It's the bull in the china shop type. Pretty hard to get those guys. They tend to come with some hard miles on them too.
Give me some more guys who can hold off a defender while keeping control of the puck. And actually have skill enough to do something with it. How many guys on this team are like that? It's kind of sad.
On another note, Galch keeps looking like a younger version of Pleks to me. Skirt included. Without the defensive game.

I know not everyone agrees but I too think that call was ridiculous. There's no way the ref is somehow making an objective call and then spewing that garbage. Not that it made the difference in the end. Clearly MB has some work to do in the off season. A lot of work.

No matter how we react, it will be wrong. Play it straight, our "rep" will follow us, we'll be schmoozers and they'll delight in sticking it to us. Dive, we'll be punished harshly, act tough, we'll be punished cause we shouldn't play that way, complain, we're whiners, on and on.

Other teams GMs get their point across, but ours are always muzzled.

Not sure if it's the same play you are talking about, but Carle got sent to the box for the same thing Prust did .. He punched Gallagher, after he thought Gallagher was in Bishops grill.

I'm not sure I believe Prust. He is the guy who came out and called Paul MacLean "a fat bug eyed walrus". So it's not like he never spouts off. What did Prust say to Watson? I initially thought Prust got the second 2 mins for cross checking. Didn't realize it was unsportsmanlike conduct. But on the replay, you see Prust saying something as he passes Watson yo go to the box. Then if you read lips Watson clearly asks "What did you say to me?" Watson tears into Prust, and then you see Prust head bob as he is talking ... Then Watson makes the T signal. So Prust said something.
I don't care if Watson called him the anti-Christ. Prust is a leader on this team and should shut his pie hole and put the team first. We had the lead. There was no need to take that time to vent. He punched Coburn 4 times, cross checked him ... He was only getting 2 mins .... Show some leadership!

Ok, I just looked at the boxscore ... It seems Prust got two misconducts late in the game and that could be where he mouths off or Watson said something ...
But my point stands. The only way he gets an unsportsmanlike in the first period is for mouthing off. He should know that was not the right time to put us down. We had the game virtually under control

If Therrien concentrates on the things that matter, like Zone clearances, defensive details and avoid blaming the refs they might act more kindly toward us. They knew they blew the offside call the game before, so forgiveness is required. I'd prefer a fine when they make a bad error that affects the outcome of s game but it doesn't work that way, so we have to play the same game others do and suck up to them.
