MA Godin is a beat writer for La Presse (Montreal):
Marc Antoine Godin @magodin 10h10 hours ago In an interview published in La Presse+, Stéphane Waite told me Carey Price played through an injury during P/O, couldn't perform at 100%.
Cheers.

Not sure it would have made a difference... but what is more eye opening is,if this is indeed the case that's 3 straight years of playing hurt in varying degrees and that bears watching.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. He was run a few times where I wondered if he was okay.

To me it also means we need a better backup.
Not necessarily someone who could carry us on his back like Carey does, but someone who could play more regular season games to give Carey a break, as well as be a reasonable fill-in for a couple of playoff games if Carey had a mild injury.
I just don't have much faith at all in Tokarski.

Tired of carey getting hurt. The refs don't protect the goalie so We could use a couple of knuckle draggers... a guy runs your goalie, you nail him from behind info the boards and guys think twice about running your goalie.

And then you turn him into the Black Knight from the Holy Grail. That would get the point across.

When Price doesn't have to be "Price", we'll know we're into the homestretch.
Until then, any backup will have to be Price-like.
I recall many great performances from Toker. Sure, they're adventurous when compared with Price's controlled game, but he got the job done.

That thought has me breaking into a cold sweat, CH. Goal support would help any backup or first stringer. Until you get to that point, though, I'd feel less fidgety with someone other than Tokarski behind Price, no matter how popular Dustin might be with the team.

What we're both saying is that, with some goal support, Toker would be just fine as our #2.
Status quo, we'd have to find a backup who's either a #1 in the making or a #1 in the recent past.

We'll never get a "Great" back up, because they are only gonna play 10-15 games a year. Toker IMO is the best we can hope for.

That (budaj) may be the type of guy you need as a 'great' backup, knowing that you're putting all your chips on your #1 not getting hurt. What the heck, I've got a car that doesn't have a spare and uses run flat tires instead. I replaced them with regular tires cause the runflats are so bloody stiff and the ride sucks. So I can't get a flat, especially in the middle of nowhere. Livin large.
