I guess I won't bother. No one's reading this anyway. Anyone interested can go to Eric Engels Twitter site and pull them up off there. Cheerio.

I was reading them, but I can't trust my filters at work ... I can get on HabsRus some times but not on others ... I'd appreciate you keeping it going, 17 ... will be interesting to see who's in the opening-day lineup 40 days from now ...
Cheers.

I'd like to see Tokarski back to his playoff form of two years ago ... I wouldn't mind seeing the organization target another goaltender in next year's draft, though ... I think we might have gotten our return in Toker already ... hope I'm wrong, but that's the way I see it ... Cheers.

Substitute to the league MVP is not going to play much, so small sample size usually restrains my criticism of Tokarski. He played like NHL goalie in 2014 playoff, but for 2015 season he did not play like a guy who will ever become vested in the league pension system.

I've been reading. But haven't seen anything controversial or worth posting a comment on. That may change this week as we start dealing with the Dmen; Emelin, Markov, Gilbert. But nice to see Toker is hangin with some of the boys during the summer

That's weird, when I looked at the thread, it had one person who had viewed it after about 3 days, so I thought it was a dud. Now I find out that it's not the situation that's weird, it's all the posters here, which I should have known anyway. Ok. Message received. #3 is on a defenceman....and it's not PK. www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/25-canadiens-in-25-days-alexei-emelin/

Emeilin is one of the 25 I've been waiting to read. I think the article is bang on. Can't believe he's 29 already. He's paid to be top 4 but will be 5th or 6th and likely not a very good one. If he doesn't show he can be a mistake free hitting machine he's gotta go. Too expensive and too much of a liability. Be nice to get something in return but we're getting close to the point that he may become a simple salary dump. Too easy to find dmaen of his calibre at a third of the cost. in fact we have some in the organization.

Emelin, eh ... if he is traded, he's got a say in where he goes ... wonder if Bergevin will be asking him for a short list of teams he wouldn't mind being traded to ... Cheers.

Emelin's game is based on hitting clean and hard. Perhaps the knee injury DID hamper his game in that respect.
But there are also a lot of players who can't take being hit in such a manner, and revenge is often sought.
Having a steel plate in his face, Emelin can't defend himself without eventually turtling...and even though he's wise to do so, turtling isn't looked upon with respect (even though the lunkhead revenge-seekers are in the wrong). Crazy, but that's the way it is.
Whatever the reason, if he can't hit the way he's supposed to hit, he may find himself on the way out if he doesn't improve his defensive game.

As much as I like Emelin's style of game, I can't see him hanging around until Christmas. We have 2 hard hitting Dmen waiting to make their impact at a far cheaper price tag.

While I love a great hit, I also appreciate that it has very little bearing, if any, on team production. It doesn't necessarily result in a change of possession and it tires out the hitter more than it tires out the hittee. That's why I love it when Boston tries to run us through the rink. We ignore them and they tire out and we win. I used to love Emelin's hitting, but I'm not so crazy about it anymore. A guy like Beaulieu who retrieves pucks well, can carry it out and make good passes, is much more valuable to a team in today's game.

No surprises in that review. Gilbert wan't very good last year (my whipping boy) and doesn't look like he'll get much play this year. MB hopefully can get an asset in return. What strikes me most about the article is the comment, yet again, that MB picks up a player that doesn't fit MT's coaching philosophy. I think MB has to make up his mind. Either stop acquiring round pegs for MT's square holes or get a coach who has a 360 perspective!

Yes, Melnick alluded to players not fitting into Therrien's mindset. And a possible trade was touched upon.
"It wouldn’t be hard for an opposing general manager to justify adding Gilbert as a fit with a coach who places greater emphasis on possession than Therrien does."
Melnick is a balanced writer and this is the first time that I've noticed some questioning of Therrien's judgment eg. not caring all that much about possession. I don't think it will be the last.

I think we've seen the most we're going to see out of Andre Markov ... that might be critical, yes, but I just don't see him getting any better ... Cheers.

I expect Markov to be on the 2nd pairing for most of the year. I think putting him on the 2nd pair would be a great way to spread some speed through the defensive lineup. PK and Markov are excellent players but they're a pretty slow pairing. Not to mention, they don't exactly need each other in order to put up points, so why not spread out their offence and balance the attack? Beau - PK Markov - Petry Emelin - Gilbert (although personally I'd rather see Pateryn/Tinordi)

I wouldn't mind if one of Emelin or Gilbert was traded for draft choices and one of Pateryn or Tinordi inserted instead. Both would be ok, but would weaken the depth a lot, so I don't think Berg will go that far.

As, long as Markov doesn't age too much this season and Beau settles in, I'm thinking those top two pairings may be the best we've had since the Big 3. And the top 6 (and 8) look about as good as I recall. Not so sure Gilles Lupien or Pierre Bouchard could crack this lineup.

Liked the signing ... we'd better have one of the best defence corps in league now ... hoping Price doesn't see the amount of rubber he did last year ... Petry should help with that ... he should also be able to help out on the PP, too ... like most of the d-men we have now, he has an excellent first-pass ... Cheers.

Love it. No helmets, no visors, no blimp goalie equipment, no composite sticks and clean, white boards. A beautiful game. That had to be early in the season, because after 13 games with the Rags, Ratelle was traded to Boston that season.
