Bergevin has confirmed that there will be a captain this year, to be named in a day or two. So... who's it going to be?

The only reason I went with Subban is because he really is the face of the Habs.....even in the off season he gets all the press with his charities, commercials etc.

I'd be fine with either PK or Max. I think it will be Max.

I'm going with Markov also. I think the players respect him more than any other player on the team.
But it may not even matter... Carey is probably the real captain of the team, regardless of who wears the actual letter.

I'm going with Patches. PK might be too polarizing in the room.

I'm 100% convinced it will be Patches and I am okay with that although I think it should be PK
I'll be a little shocked if it is PK just because with all the attention he already grabs for both the wrong and the right reasons ,I can see the Org. not wanting any added responsibilities placed on him, although he could handle it.
My thinking if it is Patches it makes that much easier for him to swallow his undervalued contract albeit he signed it with a lot of uncertainty about his long term career.
Really I don't care get Galchenyuk playing centre and give it a good long look and just let these guys loose just a little and see what they can do...I want to see more latitude and less sulking from MT this year.

I hope it's PK but I think it will be Patches. I am pretty sure the league would love to have PK be the captain. From a marketing point of view, I can see PK become the face of the league in the US, personality, style, charisma, communication... he's got it all.

They are giving one C to Galchenyuk, might as well give him two Cs.

I'm hoping and voting for PK. I think he is the future. He is Mr. Social Media, adores and excels in the spotlight, and has proven he is up to any challenge (and has met them his whole life). He is here long term and would wear the C with so much pride we would all blush.
Having said that, Max would be a good C in that he speaks well and seems quite stolid. His comments to the media today showed his balance as he said he would be privileged to wear the C but would support anyone else selected. My concern with Max is that he often disappears for streaks and in the end his leadership is somewhat one dimensional as a goal scorer (PK never disappears and can turn a game around at both ends of the rink). As well, given Max is not locked up long term, will be an FA and want huge $$$ soon,he may not be a good choice long term. Also it seems Max may be at a disadvantage as he is now injured. If the team is assessing what happens at training camp, I don't see how Max can show his worth.
Having said all that, Markov may be the safe bet if he wants it. No doubt he may be the most respected by his team-mates. I get the impression that, other than Carey, the only player on the Habs that an opponent better be very careful about taking liberties with is Markov, unless they want to be confronted by every Habs player on the ice (and the bench). Markov also buys the team some time to decide between the younger players to replace Markov in a year or two.

Half my yearly moderator salary! And all of mine. I only get 1/4 of BC's, because he was a UFA when he signed his last contract.

Wouldn't have minded Subban but I voted for Pacioretty because that's who I thought would get the "C" ...
Cheers.
