Don't get excited about tonight's game. The Leaf lines are:
Komarov-Leipsic-Marner Glencross-Kapanen-Hyman Leivo-Gauthier-Bailey Frattin-Froese-Soshnikov
Defence = Campbell, Dermott, Fraser, Gardiner, Harrington, Loov, Nielsen and Valiev
Bibeau-Sparks
I wonder how Jake Gardiner feels about this?
"Coach, coach, who are these guys?"
Any resemblence between this line-up and the Leafs regular season opening day roster is purely fictional. The Ice-Caps can probably beat this team

Stealing the lineup from NWT in the training camp thread: our expected lineup for tonight...
Andrighetto Plekanec Gallagher DLR Mitchell Kassian Carr McCarron DSP Bozon Dumont Thomas
Emelin Petry Tinordi Pateryn Barbeiro Dietz
Price Fucale
I hope Tinordi has a good game... the last thing he needs is a couple of young no-names turning him inside out.

Glad to see Bozon not only back to health…but playing for a spot, to boot. Pretty scary for quite a while.
Interested to see what McCarron does.

Yeah but, for whatever reason, it seems he's stalled. I'm losing my optimism with him. I hope he shows something, like a solid, simple game.

TSN4 is available for viewers in the Leaf Region...that definitely does not extend this far west!!
Just hoping the RDS regular season blackout does not apply tonight, but I am not holding my breath. It is likely considered a regional broadcast tonight too.

I hope Kassian has good pre-season games, starting with tonight. Otherwise, MT could very well just relegate him to the fourth line due to his size (he must be a grinder!!) and lack of familiarity with the player. Come on big Zack, earn your ice time with some good performances!!

Sorry, can't chime in. I don't have RDS and TSN4 is blocked out, so there ya go. Then again, seeing that Leaf line-up kinda makes me want to puke. What's the point of playing a team where 75% of the players aren't going to stick? Just let me know who's looking in mid pre-season form.

Just let me know who's looking in mid pre-season form. This Carey guy looked pretty good in the first. I think he will stick with the big club.

DSP looking quicker, some nice hits on the forecheck. According to Ferraro, he is 15lbs. lighter.

McCarron playing center, and that's the goal professionally after two years of it in junior. Habs seem to think he can do it as a pro.

I suspect the braintrust would like McCarron to develop into a two way centre who can shut down the opposition's top centre. If he can provide some offense at the same time, it makes him doubly valuable.

Craig Ramsay was shaking his head at that second PP. I expect we shall see some changes this year on the man advantage.
Kassian showing decent mitts and ability to cycle and protect the puck. More please.
DSP showing good wheels on that rush with McC.

If he can provide some offense at the same time, it makes him doubly valuable. I read somewhere that McCarron was possibly the best two-way centre in the OHL in his final year of junior ... it might have been referenced to here on the boards, but I'm not sure ... but that's quite the endorsement ... Cheers.

What I've seen so far ... Mark Barberio doesn't look out of place ... Darren Dietz was being hounded by two Leafs and got out of it by making a good backhand-pass along the boards ... Jeff Petry has a sick first-pass ... Daniel Carr is noticeable out there ... ditto Christian Thomas ... I don't think Alexei Emelin cares if it's a preseason game or not ... ditto Jared Tinordi ...
Cheers.
