Is that the best looking line tonight? mcCarron's? Forgot to mention, Mike McCarron is also having a pretty good game ... interested in seeing what Nakita Scherbak brings to the table ... Cheers.

Yeah, Brett Cecil struck him out last night, too ... struck out the side, for that matter ... I've got the game on ... Jays go quietly in the 7th ... Cheers.

Impressed with Sven Andrighetto's play along the boards ... lots of time being played in the Habs zone ...
Cheers.

DSP....tripping penalty 200 feet from his own net with 37 seconds left in the third.
4-on-3 into OT, then to 3-on-3 if nobody scores.
Apparently, the game was going to 3-on-3 OT regardless of the score.

Game over.
Gardiner scores 16 seconds in.
DSP blew that game. Stupid penalty even in pre-season.

I know it's just pre-season....but if we're looking for production out of our farm....that was a lacklustre showing of it.
Against a no-name Leaf D and neither Reimer nor Bernier in goal.
We had a few regulars in there, too. Pleks, Gallagher, DSP, DLR, Mitchell, Petry, Emelin....
Was hoping De La Rose might do something....
I will lose patience very quickly this year watching Price have to backstop another pop-gun offence and putrid PP....

Not going to make too many judgements in pre season especially the first 5/6 games but yes they better find some scoring and Mt better coach to this teams puck. Owing strength.... Kitty by the barn method will find them battling for a spot and burning out their goalie for another year. Price needs some support and needs to be 100% and fresh going into the PP.... Last three years he has been less than 100%
Welcome back boys hope all is well

All the usual caveats..pre season, mixed up line-up, blah, blah. We still lost to an East Coast Hockey league line-up. And scored one goal. the only solace I can take is that the Leaf players probably had more desire because there are so many openings this year for them. Us, not so much. Andrighetto knows he's going back to the AHL. Pretty well every prospect we've got is going there, so I can see it being hard for them to give it the old 110%. Let's see if the 4th game this week is any better. Petry was our only real puck moving dman today and that may have been a problem. Transition is key in today's game.

I put nothing into pre season games....the only ones trying are the kids, although I though Emelin played great.

I also thought Emelin had an overall solid game. He looked much more like when he first broke into the NHL. Unfortunately, on the 2nd Leafs goal he looked like the Emelin from last year.
McCarron was probably my favourite player last night. He made a lot happen in his 13 minutes of ice.

Four of last nights Leafs were assigned to the AHL today and three were sent back to juniour. Seven guys out of the 18 skaters the Leafs threw out and we scored one goal against them. I'm sounding like a loser, but geeze, couldn't we have lost 6-5 instead? Ok, one game, preseason, experimental line-up, but I don't like this first impression. It reeks of same old, same old.
I caught the highlight of McCarron's goal and liked it. He did a good job of shifting his stance and stick to get the right angle for the shot. The only thing better would have been if he had put it just under the crossbar (I have high standards), but I'll take that goal. The puck was far enough ahead that it would have taken amazing hands to get it high.
