... I've looked around and there is no TV listing for this game ... TSN690 should be carrying the game, just the same ... ... not sure about 98.5 FM, but I'll put it up there ...

I am looking forward to seeing AGal with his new line mates ... Eller and Semin.
I will be watching via streaming on this coast. Go Habs Go ...
Let's see some good things from our prospects, also.

Based on what I'm seeing so far in the 1st period. They are playing the same old way and being outshot and outchanced the same old way.

And somehow, it's a tie game. If we can keep the other teams goalies to a .333 save percentage, we'll be just fine.

So what are the impressions? DD with a couple of points. Badly outshot in the 1st with recovery in the second. Tokarski playing the whole game?

What was the deal with the Brown/McCarron fight? Trotz wanting to get back for the sparring with Oshie?
I'm nowhere where I can stream the game so I have all these questions.

Brown had just crashed into the net, grazing Condon ever so slightly... And as the players were going back to the bench, big Mc went up to Brown and engaged from what I saw.

I've caught bits and parts streaming online, impressions? It's the second exhibition game, I have no feelings yet lol. Flleishmann looks good and so does DD. Chucky at C is winning draws, and making plays. Semin is pretty nifty, seems slow or at least not in full gear all the time. And Condon took over in the second about half way through. He's made some decent saves, liking him.

I caught most of the game, from mid first period onwards. It was a much more entertaining game than the first pre-season game.
Chucky's line looked dangerous, lots of skill and very quick passes.
DD and his line looked good too. I get the feeling DD will get somewhere around 45 pts, plus or minus, regardless of whether he's on the first line with Max or the third line with Weise. That's not a knock against him at all. Yes, I've complained about him dragging down the first line, but I'll make it a point to be equally as vocal about his ability to carry a third line offensively. Although I still think that Eller is the one who should play center, the current formation will probably be a big improvement over last year... so I'll take it. But once DD goes back on the first line, I'll go nuts.
Condon was great. I know it was just one pre-season game, but I prefer him over Tokarski. And I do like Tokarski as a backup, but his eyesight is a huuuuge concern in my books. Condon, on a few occasions, tracked a puck that I know Tokarski wouldn't have seen but probably stopped anyway. My assumption is that they would statistically perform comparably in the NHL at this point, but I think the team would play better in front of Condon. He just looks way more composed back there.
Beaulieu looked at least as good as Petry. They should really find a way to get him into the top 4. Doing so would add 10+ goals more than last year's team total (all other things remaining equal, of course). I also liked Lernout, he was probably the best of the kids out there. Nice and steady, played to his strengths.
Some odd choices by the coaching staff... The kids overall did not get much ice time. And in the shootout, the choices were Chucky, DD and Flynn. Why not Hudon? Fleischmann? Semin? Ghetto?
Anyway, it was nice to see a bit of offence and creativity. It would have been even nicer if the kids had been given opportunities to compete for roster spots.

Re-read this and then remind yourself what you know about Michel Therrien. In his defense, he has a lot of bodies and there a few guys who can't be sent down without going through waivers, so I think he's more concerned with those guys than with the youngsters. It's good to hear that some of them are impressing. I've always liked Condon's progression.

I saw a few highlights and what stood out was that Tokarski's anticipation just wasn't there. He couldn't see a play developing and was too slow to react as a result. He shouldn't feel too comfortable as Condon is breathing down his neck.

I was only able to listen to the game on the radio, so I can't really say much. But it sounded like Fleischmann had a really good game, which means I'm going to have to learn how to spell his name without looking it up. Assuming they can sign him to a cap-friendly deal of course. My understanding of PTOs is he can sign with any other team, at any time, so he could still get poached, or get a better deal from somebody else. Remember when Joe Murphy did that to the Rangers, and Neil Smith threw his skates in the Hudson River and then climbed aboard his spaceship and went back home to Mars? Good times, good times.
A Fleischmann - Desharnais - Kassian line may not sound like a traditional third line, but if it can chip in 35-45 goals that would be pretty good.
Also sounded like Condon played much better, much cooler, than Tokarski. Toker didn't have a great year last season, and if he gets off to a bad start this season he may be in trouble. Either Condon replaces him, or the Habs go looking for a Budaj-like veteran presence to sit behind Price.

Interesting that you mention Budaj... if memory serves, it took just 3 strong games from Tokarski for management to decide that Budaj was expendable. I think if Berg and MT have more confidence in Condon, they won't hesitate to ship out Tokarski, regardless of experience levels. And I would support that move... Condon appears to still be developing, so why not explore what his ceiling might be?

The Caps pp goal was a thing of beauty. Tic-tac-toe. Three passes where the puck wasn't on the stick for more than a nano-second.
