Projected lineup for the Habs (a lot like the snoozer lineup from Game 1): Flynn - Plekanec - Gallagher DeLaRose - Mitchell - Kassian Carr - Hudon - SmithPelly Blanchard - Dumont - Gregoire Emelin - Petry Beaulieu - Lernout Barberio - Johnston Price Fucale OOPS - created a duplicate thread. Not the cleanest recovery, but I've moved this post over from the second thread and will delete that thread so we only have one GDT.

The Hawks line-up is no screamin' hell either.
Goal - Scott Darling and Matt Carruth
Defense - David Rundblad, Trevor Daley, Ville Pokka, Jan Hejda, Viktor Svedberg, Sam Jardine (what a great name Jam Sardine would be, huh?), Erik Gustafsson, Kirill Gotovets and Lubomir Visnovsky
Forwards - Andrew Desjardins, Viktor Tikhonov, Pierre-Cedric Labrie, Ryan Garbutt, Daniel Paille, Kyle Baun, Micheal Liambas, Brandon Mashinter, Marko Dano (worth keeping an eye on), Garret Ross, Dennis Rasmussen, Thomas Kopecky and Teuvo Teravainen (Yay, an exciting player actually dressed).
Of the above, Desjardins, GArbutt, Liambas, Mashinter and Labrie are all of the goon variety, so I have some concern there. What the hell are the Hawks doing dressing guys like Liambas, Mashinter and Labrie, who are probably playing for AHL time, much less NHL time.
I looked up a lot of these guys on hockeydb and there are very few 20 and 21 year olds. Most are 23 to 27, getting past the point where they can be considered serious prospects. Of the group above, Dano and Terevainen are excellent prospects. Then, it's a really long drop down to the next level, which is below guys like Carr, Hudon, etc. The Hawks are sending out their C group tonight and there's a lot of abrasive guys dressed. I hope our PP is flying.

Saw a few really nice transitions from the Habs ... didn't like that Chicago breakaway, though ...
Cheers.

I know both teams tonight are playing a lot of hopefuls….but all things being equal on that front….yikes. Even Price can't bail us out.
Our hopefuls really don't have a chance at making the big club….but considering Bergevin has told us that Lefebvre uses Therrien's systems on the farm….how's it lookin' so far, MB?
Appears to be 3 straight losses at home.

Whew, found a feed. Ryan Johnston looks interesting. Nice skater, good patience. Dumont's line hemmed in badly. The players seem to be drawn out of position a lot. The Hawks often have a guy open and you can see two of our guys, where only one should be. They're getting drawn to the puck rather than being disciplined and staying in your lane or with your man. The 4th goal was pure fluke.....but that doesn't account for the lack of defensive discipline. Lots of youngsters out there, but they have to learn.

I don't know how you make judgments based on pre-season games. You have guys playing together who have never done so before; you have vets who don't want to get hurt, so they're playing 85%; you've got some marginal prospects who are playing their hearts out because its their last chance and they might make the 4th line; you've got some prospect who know they're going to the minors so they want to impress; but they're not going all out either; and you have some guys who know they're just not making it and they're basically a filler. Maybe by the last 2 games where the coach has the regulars playing together we might be able to make out something. Until then, might as well snooze.

Preseason means squat ....there are only a handful of guys targeted in positions of need that are paid any attention too...and the ones the media are interested in or create are rarely in the mix!
October can't come fast enough!

As bad as this is for us, some folks paid big bucks to see this live. Yikes. Something I'll never fully understand, especially tonight. It's Friday. They're playing a second instance of back to back pre-season games, with another game tomorrow. You know that mgt is going to dress the better lineup for Saturday. If you really need to see a pre-season game, that's the one. Not tonight.

It's lack of cordination, not fatigue, that's eating at them.

Mike Bossy weighs in on Jared Tinordi.
Tinordi hasn't done anything up to this point to show that Bossy is wrong. IMHO, I believe that Tinordi's days are numbered as a Hab.

We are only allowed to have ONE huge capable, nasty defenseman every 100 years. Remember Komitraitor? Poooof..... TinMan now? Close to pooof..... If I could only skate and 40 years younger, i got the fat to hang in there in their weight class!

At this point you'd have to say even Ryan O'Byrne has had a more stellar career than Tinner - including own goals. And Ryan is now in eastern Europe.

It is not to worry about the NHL calibre players. I worry a little about Lefebvre and what the club is developing there.

Mike Bossy was hired last year by the MSG network to be a homer analyst for Islanders' games.
Was he asked his opinion….or did he just feel it was appropriate to slam-Tweet a touted/hopeful Habs' prospect?
