We also have to find a way to negate Stone, or he's going to kill us this year. No worries... PK can take care of him

From the highlights I saw, it sure looked like PK and Markov did not have a good game. I'd love to see NB on that first pairing, but it will require some tact on Therrien's part to soothe Markov's feelings before moving him down. Too bad Karlsson wasn't playing. That would have made me feel even better. We also have to find a way to negate Stone, or he's going to kill us this year. Markov was good the vast majority of the time. He did make a few mistakes and his skating was slow out there, but otherwise he was a big part of the great puck movement all night. It's hard to describe PK's game last night. I wouldn't say that he mailed it in by any means, rather I'd say that he really didn't fit in well with the team, as if he just wasn't on the same page. When Markov, Chuckie, Semin et al were able to make plays quickly and get the opposition moving, PK generally held on to the puck, gave the opposition more time to get in position, put his teammates offside, and kinda just through off the chemistry. And since the team chemistry was so strong last night, I didn't really like it when PK was out there. That being said, when PK did pass the puck quickly out of our zone, he was excellent. He started a few great breakouts that way, including one beauty stretch pass to Max for a semi break. He should make those quick plays more often.

Only thing I take from the game last night. What in the world is Markov playing 27min in a preseason game?

More shots, better puck possession ... Means nothing! It will always be quality beats quantity, every time.
